Thoughts on 1st year

So we could have also won the 2 we lost if you want to play the "coulda shoulda" game?

Not really playing that game though ... Just suggesting last year's team didn't "look" as good as the record would indicate they were. And this season's team "looks" better that last year, even if the record is the same.

Kind of like some screen passes don't "look" all that good, even if they work.

You can understand that, right?

I think we looked exactly like an 8-5 team last year. Actually, we looked more like a 9-4 team until Coley decided to throw a half back pass in the snow.

I understand that a bad operation on screen passes limits the effectiveness of the screen pass because you can't always count on the RB to break 30 tackles. But I don't know what that weak analogy has to do with your claim that we didn't look 8-5. What does 8-5 look like?

No worries. We can agree to disagree.

I think this year's team looks better than last years. And virtually every statistic, offensive ones included, support that narrative.

But if the month of October was the deal-breaker for you, I won't argue it. I'm not "happy" about being 6-4, but I see progress.

We finish off NCSU and Duke the way we have Pitt and UVA, and I'll take this as an acceptable year 1 from Richt.

So we look slightly better than last year's unprecedentedly toxic dumpster fire of a team coached by no one even though our record isn't better? That sounds like the 350 pound chick who dieted down to 300, and all her bloated friends tell her how hot she is.

When all is said and done, they keep score for a reason. We have a ****** record and won't reach any of the goals that were very reachable.

If you want to celebrate that, then no one can stand in your way. I choose to hold off on popping corks until we accomplish something other than unquantifiably looking better than we looked at our most toxic.

Not celebrating anything. Just not willing to join the gripe train just yet.

But if we ain't playing in Charlotte next year, the week after the season ends, I'll grab my ticket and seat.

garbage 1st year. we still have to beat ncst and duke...not givens. have to win a bowl game. I think Richt was a bad hire.

Katya is a decent player, but no leader of men. oline ain't getting that much better next year. crootin ain't lookin too good.

Kool and Diaz. bright spots on another **** year. Yay.

used to check in here every day, now it's a couple of times s week and game thread.

not hyped for next year. we are a middling program. I love my canes, but we ain't good, and aren't looking to be good.

Richt will finish strong like he did at UGA, but when the pressure is on, I don't think he gets his team ready. He loses big games too often. Miami lost to every major opponent this season, (va tech on Thursday night, FSU, UNC, & Notre Dame).

Richt will be beat Pitt, ga tech, & uva teams like that. But you have to win big games.

Yeah Richt usually seemed to do better at the end of seasons at UGA but struggle at midseason. In the Golden, Shannon and later Coker years we had the opposite problem where we tanked at the end of the season after being decent for 7-9 games.

This teams personnel is on par with ND's. So MR has done pretty good considering. You guys are all kool-aid over the myth this team is better than its record.

We definitely should have done something different. This year was a waste.

Other than your mom, what should we have done different? Was there some other coach we had a shot at and should have hired? And don't waste my time with any butch nonsense, the fiu hire tells me all I need to know about butch in 2016.

I dunno maybe hire a ******* OC so our offense doesn't look like some pop warner schit.

I mean that could be a place to start right?

******* ******.

Jeez, one little comment about your mom and you get all ****y. OC isn't a bad idea.

If you make a kunty comment like a kunty ****, expect a kunty reply in kind crammed up your ****.

Does your mom know you type like that?

Should have been a 10 win season granted they were close loses still we should have waxed FSU and UNC and ND thats on richt for not adjusting

I had said it should be a 10 win team but we will probably lose some games we should of won looks to be true

This team has to develop a different mindset. As long as they don't get angry after losses but come out flat out of the tunnel we will have losing streaks like the one in october. They have to realize that there are only so many(few) games to shine in a season and every game matters. The loss vs. nc was devastating cause it showed once again that f$u ruined our season.

I want CMR to succeed because I want UM to succeed and he seems like an awesome guy, but I am disappointed in how this season played out. I really thought that we had incredible weapons on offense and the defense was the unknown. The defense exceeded my expectations, especially after AQM and Grace got their walking papers. The offense, on the other hand, was a major disappointment as I really thought CMR would tear it up with a highly regarded veteran QB, an experienced OL and offensive playmakers at WR, TE and RB.

In addition to the talent on the roster, I didn't and don't see a team on the roster that we shouldn't have beaten. We ****ed away 4 games and this was not a good look.

The team needs to get better. Hopefully, they will.

Oline has been the biggest bust leading to underperformance in the other areas. Wouldn't blame the entire offense. With the minor adjustments made due to Linder's injury they seem to be performing better and not coincidentally the running game has picked up and aside from Kaaya having an off game last week the offense looks better.

I'm still trying to figure out where the hype of 10 wins came from.....the jury is out still out....this program is in rebuilding mode mentally. They have to learn how to win. But hey, I'll join the rest of you and call it a failure after 10 games....let's fly the banner and fold the program

Miami will 9 games every year at least. That's Richt's average. Recruiting the "right players" (Dalvin cook, Calvin Ridley, Amari Cooper type) will get the 11 & 12 win seasons.

Record be damned. My eyes tell me we're a better team...I think

Better Heart, Conditioning, Grit, and lots of adjustments going on with this staff and their players. Lots of young kids learning on the fly and setting a foundation. Think we really have some leaders (alphas, dogs in them, whatever other saying people make up for pure football player). Cautiously Optimistic.

Need to win out, win bowl game, finish strong in areas of need in recruiting. Lets revisit 4pm on signing day

She taught me that when a man acts like a kunty **** he should be called out on it.

Get away from me with that pathetic "our record hasn't improved, but we haven't gotten blown out twice" bird chested faqquittry.

Should have won 10 and the Coastal this year. Out of the Coastal race with 3 division games left equals **** result. Get better.

Lol thread killa get 20 downvotes while franchise get 17 up for saying the same thing yall boys be ****riding like a mfer

Definition of dyckriding is looking at someone else's up and down votes and then being effeminate enough to post about it.

Naw lol it dont bother me **** just funny cause it be like this in multiple threads u got groupies thats wassup

So all we have to do to rustle some sissy panties is up-vote The Franchise?

Record wise we're close to getting to where our floor was IMO. That said to lose everyone of our toughest games is "richtesque" and part of the reason UGA booted him. We should have won at least 2 of those 4.

When a coach can kick his team in the *** and make them play 1000% better in the second half without making huge play calling adjustments, that tells me it is more on the effort being shown by the individual players than on the effort of the coaches. That is why I put the ND game on the players, because the coaches got them clicking in the second half and if the players had shown as much effort in first half, we win that game. So that leaves three losses. Pretty much everyone expected the VT loss with our depth on a short week. Down to two: I expected the loss to FSU. They are simply a more talented team. And yet we had them where we wanted and players blew blocking assignments. I don't blame the coaches, but I can see why someone could. UNC is the biggest corching job this season. Coaches had to know we'd be down after the fsu loss and I expected a great coach (aka a Saban) to get his team to come out seeking revenge. We came out feeling sorry for ourselves and it carried over. So I put one loss directly on the coaches, the rest on a team that has to learn to execute with Max effort on every single down

I just want to say Miami has been what I expected. I thought might beat fsu this year but a blocked extra point kept us from ot, Miami always has let down after fsu loss and so the second loss didn't shock me the loss to vt our team was coming off 2 tough losses to unc and fsu and the d was beat up and we got hammered on a short week in Blacksburg then lost to nd which has as much talent as we do if not more since Kelly is in year 5 richt year 1.

this is a team most experts picked to win 5 or fewer games, yes we have much better coaching this year, its obvious and the offense problems are the oline fault , and the oline as no depth as witnessed McDermott at lt and has dealt with injuries all year, which limits what offense can do I don't think play calling is the issue as much as kids in 1st year in system and 2 oline not given kayaa time or opening holes when needed in our losses.
