So we could have also won the 2 we lost if you want to play the "coulda shoulda" game?
Not really playing that game though ... Just suggesting last year's team didn't "look" as good as the record would indicate they were. And this season's team "looks" better that last year, even if the record is the same.
Kind of like some screen passes don't "look" all that good, even if they work.
You can understand that, right?
I think we looked exactly like an 8-5 team last year. Actually, we looked more like a 9-4 team until Coley decided to throw a half back pass in the snow.
I understand that a bad operation on screen passes limits the effectiveness of the screen pass because you can't always count on the RB to break 30 tackles. But I don't know what that weak analogy has to do with your claim that we didn't look 8-5. What does 8-5 look like?
No worries. We can agree to disagree.
I think this year's team looks better than last years. And virtually every statistic, offensive ones included, support that narrative.
But if the month of October was the deal-breaker for you, I won't argue it. I'm not "happy" about being 6-4, but I see progress.
We finish off NCSU and Duke the way we have Pitt and UVA, and I'll take this as an acceptable year 1 from Richt.
So we look slightly better than last year's unprecedentedly toxic dumpster fire of a team coached by no one even though our record isn't better? That sounds like the 350 pound chick who dieted down to 300, and all her bloated friends tell her how hot she is.
When all is said and done, they keep score for a reason. We have a ****** record and won't reach any of the goals that were very reachable.
If you want to celebrate that, then no one can stand in your way. I choose to hold off on popping corks until we accomplish something other than unquantifiably looking better than we looked at our most toxic.
Not celebrating anything. Just not willing to join the gripe train just yet.
But if we ain't playing in Charlotte next year, the week after the season ends, I'll grab my ticket and seat.
