The record has not improved but I still believe the team has improved this year. The 2015 team was not as good as its record stated. We actually got outscored on the year, lost games by 37 and 58 points and were struggling at halftime with FAU. We finished #49 in Sagarin last year and are #20 this year. There's been more progress than the W-L indicates.

We'll probably finish 8-4 and I'm not going to predict the bowl. With that being said I believe next year will provide us with a better idea of how Richt's tenure is going. Even coaches regarded as great often don't produce a lot in their first year (i.e. Saban, Carroll) and Richt is actually doing better than they did in year 1. By year 2 they have something going although as often as not the full fruits of the coaching change don't arrive until year 3. Saban and Carroll lost 2 games their 2nd year and didn't win a title until year 3. Urban Meyer has produced quicker results but he never has inherited a bad situation. He got Zook's recruits at UF and Tressel's recruits at Ohio State. (With Fickell being interim coach for 6 months in between.)

Golden and Shannon also had bad 1st years, which is the counterpoint. Shannon was familiar with the players when he took over and on defense wasn't changing the schemes very much. He truthfully didn't have a lot of excuses to go 5-7 his 1st year, especially with 38 and 48 point losses. Golden had more of an excuse for a poor 1st year since he was bringing in more new schemes and didn't have much familiarity with the players. Granted things never got much better in later years under Golden.

Richt has underachieved and this season is another disappointing one.

Miami football stays irrelevant.

I agree this team is better than last years.

The games we have won ,we have won by double digits. The loses have all been close single digit games sans VT.

2015 we won some squeakers (Duke ,Neb, Pitt) and got blown out a couple of times (Clem UNC )and the Cinn game we lost by 2 scores, could have easily been a 5 win team.

We have not regressed but we haven't progressed enough to escape irrelevance which is the state we currently find ourselves in.

Right now we are completely off the radar. Out of the top 25 and playing at obscure times (12:30pm ,2pm...) . I couldn't give away 2 extra tickets at the last home game vs Pitt.

But again, I am encouraged and trust Richt and staff will get us just a few plays better equating to a few wins better.

Get away from me with that pathetic "our record hasn't improved, but we haven't gotten blown out twice" bird chested faqquittry.

Should have won 10 and the Coastal this year. Out of the Coastal race with 3 division games left equals **** result. Get better.

By the eye test, this team is head and shoulders better than last year. We should win out and end up ranked.

If we don't go to the ACCCG next year, that would be a huge disappointment.

The defense is easily better, but the offense has been disappointing. Overall it's been a bit of a disappointment.

This years schedule was about as easy as it'll ever be. FSU is our only opponent currently in the Top 25. @VT was our only road game against a good team. We haven't played any team with less than 3 losses.

For me - Richt's worth is more in his recruiting than his coaching, and he's got some work to do here. He needs to show can consistently get Top 10 recruiting classes like he did at Georgia. If our recruiting classes stay in that top 15-20 range where it's been, we'll stay in that 8 to 9 wins a year range.

If Kaaya comes back, we may lose 1-2 games max next year. That front 7 on D gone be so nasty.

We are not a better team, improved defense, but offense is worse. Recruiting is nothing to write home about.

The offense has been bad against any decent team. We have been better the last two games so am curious to see if it sticks.

Defense is much better. Diaz is the reason we don't have a losing record this year. Kugs has been good and rumph a nice surprise.

Special teams has had too many problems.

We will miss golden as a recruiter if things don't pick up more. Richt should be on the new hire momentum swing.

Overall we are not better. We'd be worse if it wasn't for Diaz.

I agree with the front 7 next year but if we dont have anyone that can cover it wont make a difference. We need a grad transfer/Juco CB next year again but it will need to be a really good one(not saying Colbert sucked) cause I dont see anybody currently being that lockdown corner

Disappointing first year..Period

Had the talent and the schedule to win 10 games, and we didn't.

Went 0-4 in the most important stretch of the year. Absolute fail by the team to not pull out one of those games.

We'll see how it ends, but recruiting has also been a disappointment. Where is our first year coaching stuff bump in recruiting?

We have some stud players but seem to be striking at the most important positions CB, OL, WR.. And there is no excuse for Miami to not have talent at CB/WR

I want CMR to succeed because I want UM to succeed and he seems like an awesome guy, but I am disappointed in how this season played out. I really thought that we had incredible weapons on offense and the defense was the unknown. The defense exceeded my expectations, especially after AQM and Grace got their walking papers. The offense, on the other hand, was a major disappointment as I really thought CMR would tear it up with a highly regarded veteran QB, an experienced OL and offensive playmakers at WR, TE and RB.

In addition to the talent on the roster, I didn't and don't see a team on the roster that we shouldn't have beaten. We ****ed away 4 games and this was not a good look.

The team needs to get better. Hopefully, they will.

Before season : first year success for Richt is miami wins 10 games and loses in Acc championship game (so no acc championship). This year, possibly 9 wins (improvement over last year) , only one "blowout" loss in a short week and a game everyone had already penciled in as an L, no acc championship. Still might end up in good bowl game. Yet season is a massive failure and Richt was a bad hire.

Going into the year we looked at the season in 3 parts, first 4, mid 4 and last 4.
Most here predicted a 4-0 start and finish. The question was the middle 4 games.

We came away 0-fer.

I believe we are better, but with our schedule this year winning less than 9 games is a disappointment. 10 was there for the taking.
I hate the term irrelevant but that's who we are 'till we win this dam Coastal. That's not much to ask for.

Notre Dame was a pre season top 10 and has underachieved immensely, but they are considerably more talented on paper. FSU has twice as many five stars as Clemson, which played in nat championship game and a once in a decade rb in Dalvin Cook. Also far more talented on paper. We got VT on a short week when we were so desperate and thin from injury that we moved a TE to DE and nearly all the starters were playing out of position. I had those three games marked down as likely losses before the season started. The one that we really let get away was UNC at home. Of course, we struggled on O, but UNC was given a TD by the refs (ACC actually apologized for the blown call) and we win that game without the 7 wrongly awarded points. Still the L is an L. So to my accounting we lost the three that I felt we only had about a 20% shot of winning and lost one game (UNC) that I felt we had about a 60% chance of winning. We are basically what I thought we'd be, even though I did get ahead of myself when we beat up the cupcakes.

Shown some progress especially on D. October was epic fail in my book. If we finish up 8-4 and win bowl game, then season gets B-

Lol at just assuming we finish 8-4. This board is setting itself up for a huge meltdown come Saturday evening.

This season is a disappointment because through self-inflicted wounds we're a team whose record isn't as good as the team we've got. If Richt didn't come back to play calling because of "boredom", and we spent the cash needed for a real OC, we'd be at 9-10 wins right now. But instead Richt had to selfishly come back clearly unprepared.

I'm more interested in seeing if Richt can show any improvement on offense rather than winning out. It took until about the fifth horrible defense we faced in Pitt to finally see this offense run smoothly. Richt's conservaball approach just reeks of an era that is long gone in CFB and I don't know how much an old dog can learn new tricks. If by some miracle we play these final three games as well as Kaaya permits us, then hopefully this season was a dry run for many successful seasons to come.

Even if we finish 8-4 and win a bowl this season is a massive failure.

We lost to two of our most hated rivals even in down seasons for them and **** our pants in the Coastal....again.

Its an F no matter what we do from here on out.
