Mot even close. That popeyes chicken sandwich is TRASH. I’m white so my opinion on chicken is irrelevant bc my family hasn’t seasoned anything in 29 years but I’m going w Chic-Fil-A.
“Trash.” Lol.....yeah ok.

A lot of people don’t know this about Cribby...

Even though he was born in the soil of the Orange Bowl at midnight of January 1st, 1983, he moved to himself to Gainesville as an infant. Everyone has a calling in life and young Cribbstopher C. Cribby’s calling was to harvest the saltiest tears in the country and share them with the sodium-deprived masses of college athletics.

He’s too humble to tell anyone about this suicidal act of heroism, but I have no problem blowing the trumpet in his stead. Very few people in human history are willing to expose themselves to the redneck equivalent of Chernobyl. The gamma ray dosage in one pair of jean shorts is enough to turn the insides of a normal man to oily goo, but like a modern day Mithridates baby CCC sired himself on every manner of toxin the swamp could conjure up. He chews poison ivy like mint leaves, flosses with copperhead skin, eats cereal from the bowl of a possum skull and sleeps in a bed made from mudding tires so worn the wire shows through.

Fear not. It will take more than a few thousand braided leather belts to radiate this guy to death.

Whats the "C" stand for?

They built one here in gainesville a year or two ago.

Yeah, it seems logical that Bojangles should build a North Florida beachhead before moving south.

Do they still have a Whattaburger in Gainesville, I think it was east of 441, south of downtown? I think that Tally still has a Whatta or two, and I've seen Whatta in Jax.

Having lived in New Orleans, the capital of Popeyes, and Atlanta, the capital of CFA, I will tell you that Popeyes in NO win hands down. They go through chicken so fast that it is always hot and fresh. However, if it is not fresh, it doesn’t hold up well. CFA beats all non high-volume Popeyes.

There is a lot of great fried chicken to be had in this world. Jacques-Imos in NOLA, Husk’s (skillet fried), and Joe’s (yes, that Joe’s) being three other great versions.

After this thread, and while running some errands last night (and missing out on a place that closed at 8 pm), I got some Popeye's at 8:30 last night, did the sandwich and the red beans & rice (of course). I don't go frequently, but I was happy.

Cookout is good too. I'm surprised why that one hasn't made it to FL, it doesn't seem overly-southern-hicky.

Bojangles chicken is trash, lol. Carry on.

I do prefer the patties to the pieces of chicken. They need to do something to improve the batter, it just seems blander than Popeyes/KFC, and there's no reason not to put some salt-and-pepper in there.

That’s my thing. It has zero taste. Popeyes all day over Bo****ty.

Their red beans are actually pretty good too. I miss living in New Orleans.

We have Cookout in Atlanta. I have not gotten anything from there other than a shake, but it was a good shake (and they have just about every flavor under the sun). I think I got a banana pudding shake?

Yeah, I've done that shake too, it's good. They are not super-high-priced on the food, you get a good value-to-food ratio, which is nice after the Shake Shack/Burger Fi/Five Guys routine.

Love Shake Shack's burgers, chicken, and shakes, but their fries are terrible. Marginally better with cheese sauce on em, but if you are going to go frozen crinkle, just do tots and/or onion rings instead.

But it's so close to 34th Street. It's not like they put it west of 75.

Other than Shands it’s dead on that end, Shands has a ton of options in the hospital including a Chic Fila. No reason to leave the hospital. So they lose a ton of potential customers.

On the other side by the interstate is loaded with options
