Thomas Brown to join staff

I thought that McClendon guy would be co-oc? Does this mean he us not coming now if the rb coach is co-oc

Maybe we will have two Co-OC's although that would be strange with Richt calling the plays.

McClendon seems like a pretty hot commodity so I hope we get him.

"Mark Richt sucks because he's going to hire assistant coaches he is familiar with and did not hire a 60 year old guy I had never heard of until two months ago. I have to change my coach-worshipping screen name now."

What has Mark Richt won in his career to justify bringing in all his former players from a job he was ****-canned at?

I think he won the SEC championship twice. Miami hasn't even been to the ACC Championship game yet. I don't think he was the same coach after he stopped calling the plays. Sometimes I've watched UGA games, and it was like watching Miami, with no apparent rhyme or reason to the playcalling. The offense should be better, but he has to make a homerun hire with the defensive coordinator. He's bringing a lot of the major recruiters with him, so the talent will be there.

So far we've gone from Golden to Richt as head coach
Our playcaller from Coley to Richt
Our RB coach from Ice to Thomas Brown.

How can anyone be upset with this so far?

Its a win so far. Replace kehoe and find a **** good DC and let him fill his staff.

So you don't consider Richt hiring a bunch of his former players to be nepotism?

No. Neither does anyone who actually knows what that word means.

LOLOL clearly you don't. "the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs."

The word "nepotism" refers to family. It's OK to admit you didn't know what it meant.

As well as friends... Its giving someone an undeserved (family/Friends) a job.

Who said it's undeserved? The co-oc role is all about recruiting and organizing game plans. Richt was his boss so he would know if he has the skills in those areas.

"I am told he is getting a Co-Coordinator title and a salary around or above 600K with a 3 year deal at Miami with CMR
That is a MONSTER deal for Brown.
Great Coach, Great person
There will be a lot of people in line to coach RB's at UGA can bet that.."

600K for a glorified recruiter is a huge waste of money. Instead of worrying about getting his ex players paid, he should have spent that cash on Don Brown.

LMAO at grown *** men rustled over another man's salary. His salary coming out of your Bentley fund bruh?

That is my thinking also I don't see there being to co-oc with richt calling plays so that may mean McClendon is not coming

FSU has the same set up. Jimbo calls plays and he has two Co-Oc's.

If they have money to blow, who gives a ****?

Don't you know bleeding vaginas try and find shiat to ****** about. It doesn't matter that it doesn't matter. Biatching is the key. Whining, crying and biatching. This FN idiot doesn't understand the importance of recruiting. Its that simple he has no idea what college football is about. It doesn't matter that Saban and every other coach in the Nation says its the key this idiot is **** bent on the idea that he knows better than every FN coach in the country . Total lunacy wrapped in used condom that so full of blinding ego that he is a testament to how the mind sees whats it wants and ignores reality even when its a rattle snack inches away from his nose.

I doubt any HC would give themselves the title of co-OC. He has to have a plan of bringing in someone else.

end of the day, brown will be a much better RB coach than Ice and u will see it on the field.

I do not know much about Brown but my first impressions have been positive after looking at his resume. My question would be, if he is going to be CO-OC, does that have implications for McClendon or Lily possibly coming here?

Also this means Coley is gone, which is good because he has proven that really he is only good at scouting QBs and recruiting. This Brown guy can be groomed to be the next play caller one day when Richt retires or something. I did not like that role for Coley, as he has already failed after being groomed by a national championship winning play caller.

Anyways, what are the implications of this hire for the rest of the coaching staff? In terms of McClendon and Lily but also the incumbent staff. Does this signal an intent to clear house? I hope so.

I am probably reading way too much into this one hire but I have been starved of real coaching staff news and am excited to get some.

How? RB coaches don't teach RB's how to run lmao...the biggest job is pass blocking and our RB's didn't have any problems with that this year...or fumbling..

My thought as well. I assume "co-OC" means with another assistant, not the head coach.

there is alot more to it than just running. if it was just running, Trayone Gray would be an all american.

I think Brown would be a reach for co-OC. I think BMac would be better groomed for this step up. I guess we will see what Richt is cooking up.

I said "the biggest job is pass blocking" and you say running.

True, didn't think of it that way.
