Thomas Brown to join staff

From rusty Mansel Uga 247
"I am told he is getting a Co-Coordinator title and a salary around or above 600K with a 3 year deal at Miami with CMR
That is a MONSTER deal for Brown.
Great Coach, Great person
There will be a lot of people in line to coach RB's at UGA can bet that.."

600K for a glorified recruiter is a huge waste of money. Instead of worrying about getting his ex players paid, he should have spent that cash on Don Brown.

If they have money to blow, who gives a ****?

BC they could have outbid Michigan for a truly elite DC that would have us dominating quickly. Instead, the focus is on overpaying old friends.

Get this guy some Kleenex

Ahh I see we are already doing the "blindly support the new shiny HC" thing.....Sorry if I'm not excited about a bunch of green, young, ex UGA players filling up our coaching staff.

Oh great. Now Richt sucks because he didn't hire a guy that nobody had heard of until 2 months ago.

Hey if you want to blindly support a guy who is filling our staff with a bunch of former Bulldog players, thats on you.

I explicitly stated that I want an elite experienced staff here. Not a welfare program for the recently graduated UGA player.....

Brown coached RBs at Wisconsin in 2014. Marshall before that and I think one other place. Pretty sure this is his 4th or 5th year coaching college. More experience than Ice, yes?

Coaching career (HC unless noted)
2011 Georgia (Assistant strength and conditioning coach)
2012 Chattanooga (RB)
2013 Marshall (RB)
2014 Wisconsin (RB)
2015–Present Georgia (RB)

Yeah I'm "blindly" supporting a guy because I'm not throwing a tantrum when he didn't hire who I wanted for DC.

But he doesn't have "Coached most talented HS team in the country" on his resume...

Didn't realize paying one guy as an OC was mutually exclusive to paying a DC.

Jesus.

The logic being used to justify throwing a tantrum that Richt did not hire the BC DC could be used in throwing a tantrum that Blake did not hire Saban. In other words there is no basis, no factual evidence in the jab. It is as if the poster believes he reached out to Richt and was turned down because Richt was too busy interviewing his old assistants.

Knew Brown as a player at UGA. Good spot for a young guy - like the hire.

Not blindly doing anything just not whining and *****ing like you. I'm just Letting ish play out

Coached Melvin Gordon Nick Chubb and Sony Michel

LOLOLOL so one year he coached a RB on a team that has top rushers every year, and then coached an injured guy for one year? Color me impressed.

Richt has churned out RB year in and year out at GA. I think he knows what he requires in a RB coach to continue that. Your judgement is way off.
