Thomas Brown says we have two "elite" backs...maybe three

If our backs reach elite status, we dont lose this year. I dont see elite from last year, but I cant judge anybody under last regime. Homer is my favorite RB on team followed by Yearby. Very interested to see Yearby after transforming his body.

Lol elite backs are avg when they run behind tubs of lard! I am pretty sure its still consider a team sport.

Barry Sanders became a HOF running back playing for the LIONS. Worst line in history.

He happens to be one of the greatest of all time at making people miss. Only three or four other men who have walked this earth compare.
Right there with him is Sayers, Faulk and OJ.

Outside of being elite or not, I hope that when they are hot and running well they don't get automatically subbed out like previous years. Stick with the hot hand until he actually needs a break not because a card says the other guy should be getting carries around now. It seemed like anytime one of them started developing a rhythm he'd head to the bench. You can't take anything over from the sidelines.

Agree 100%, except that wasn't just limited to RBs. Those scrub corches literally did that with every position. No one was ever able to get into a rhythm.

So we have an elite QB and RB. A good DL and one of the best WR in the ACC. This is all according to the staff. It seems like we shouldn't win less than 10 by those statements.

I think people aren sleeping on Homer a little. I also expect Walton to make a big jump this year.

Slide over and let me hop on the Homer bus with you. I don't expect much from him this year, but I fully expect him to excel at UM before it's all said and done. That kid can play.

From what DMoney has seen, he says he likes him a lot. I haven't really seen enough to make a call either way. He does look bigger than I expected. And, seems to run a little different than what I saw in his HS tape. I thought he was squattier with his pad level.

I get you're saying that this is what the coaches are saying.

My guess is it looks more like this on offense:

Elite QB
Elite WR
Elite TE

Still enough to win 9-10 games, minimum.

I'm with Fightinibis and Dirty Sprite, Walton is elite and Homer is an NFL back in the making. Canes fans are sleeping on Walton in a major way.

Many of our players shouldn't be relegated to and judged by their performances under Golden, Coley, and D'No. I never despised Coley, but I must admit that his offense never allowed for any back to get into a groove, and he never worked with the o-line to call plays that accentuated their overall strength, especially with run blocking.

Walton is elite with real coaching and tutelage. Just wait

Please don't give me heart palpitations referring to Barry Sanders....brings back memories of Clappy.

I think we have an elite WR and TE in potential. Kaaya is the only one that has proven to be elite. We've been waiting on Coley forever now. When he is on, he is elite though. Showed up big against an elite FSU secondary.

Kaaya has not shown that he is elite yet to me only elite player that has rally proven themselves or njoku maybe corn elder and coley can be that...

Yearby ran for over 1000 yds last year behind an atrocious offensive line, with an incompetent/predictable play caller calling the plays, and with "Ice" teaching him how to be a college running back.

This year we have an improved/stronger/mobile offensive line, Richt as the play caller, and Thomas Brown as the RB position coach. Also, add in the fact that Yearby's body and conditioning this year is actually more like a college running back as opposed to last year when Golden had him looking like he was trying out to have his picture on the wall at the closest buffalo wild wingz for haven eaten 150 wings in 10 minutes.

For the reasons mentioned above, I think Yearby will be elite this year and is due for a special year, even in a system that utilizes multiple backs.

I'm projecting their elite status for this upcoming season based on what I've seen recently and the flashes in past seasons. Of course, they have to be on the field and healthy.

I think some people have trouble telling the difference between "good" and "elite".

Productive doesn't = elite

I like our running backs. Not sure I'd consider any of them "elite" right now but they can play. I'm totally cool with the committee approach. Give everyone a few carries and ride the hot hand if one guy in particular stands out.
