This was up there on the Canes Mt. Rushmore of ****

Reading this thread is perfect evidence of why it's moronic to post back and forth with simpletons. Whenever a thread gains multiple pages in short order, that's what is going on.

Mike Leach never came close to anything. I have no idea how his name can ever be summoned. He's not even the closest from the same region where he coaches now. Boise State under Petersen was a legitimate BCS threat for several years in the late 2000s. They had an unbeaten team finish 4th in all the major polls. Multiple appearances in BCS bowls. The 2010 Boise State team was ranked 2nd for several weeks late in the season. Only a late frantic rally by Kaepernick at Nevada Reno pulled out a tight game and denied that Boise State team a claim at the title game berth. Boise State's kicker missed a chip shot in regulation that would have won the game.

Here is an article that describes that game and how it ended Boise State's title game hopes:

I read the first page of this thread and the last.

Thanks, I now know not to read what’s in between.

I mean, Wawa subs and salaries? What the fūck is even going on here?

Sounds like this thread is trying to compete with Saturdays’s game for worst shltshow ever.

I'm really glad you possess an uncanny ability to identify simpletons, but tell me do you also understand the difference between G5 & P5 conferences? Because Texas Tech plays in a P5 conference, while Boise plays in a G5. Furthermore both teams played different levels of competition in order to become BCS threats. But since you're not a simpleton, I'm sure you already knew that..huh?

I feel bad for whatever company you work for. I could only imagine the headaches you cause by refusing to man up and take the blame. Always trying to push the blame onto other. This is Mannys 4th season. Any issues on the defensive side falls on him. He recruited these kids, he coached these kids, it is his fault.

In the real world managers are blamed for making a bunch of awful hires. If one of my departments was a complete mess, that is the managers fault. Even if all of his employees are complete morons and there really is nothing the manager could do to motivate/train them. That falls on him for making all those poor hires.

If all these players on defense are just so soft, lazy and stupid that a good coach can't whip them into shape. Than that falls on Manny for recruiting them.

Manny is the supervisor of a poorly run department who gets promoted when the department head quits.

This thread hit bottom with the comment:

As far as I'm concerned Iowa is as good as Alabama, relative to the talent that they're able to acquire.

The old ‘Miami Standard’ was not an occasional Big East title and a bowl game. The phrases Peach Bowl and Citrus Bowl were the wrong kind of profanity. The standard was national championships. This is the standard Howard Schnelly created, Jimmy Johnson perfected, and Dennis Erickson and Butch Davis continued.

Anything less was an unsuccessful, disappointing season.

And that is relative to the talent Miami is able to acquire, but now fail to do so.

Yeah..because ALL teams recruit on the same level, allocate the same resources, and therefore should also have the same expectations..right? In what world does that make sense??

You're so delusional that you don't even understand that the elite teams in CFB spend upwards of $60 million annually, and MIA probably spends half that. But according to you it's Ok for fans like yourself to maintain championship or bust expectations right?? FOH

The Miami Administration/BOT chose to lower their standards. Miami fans who remember have not lowered theirs.

Now go polish your kickball participation trophies, brush your teeth, and go to bed.

Honest question. If Iowa is basically Bama if you negate the talent difference. Doesn't that mean talent plays a massive ******* part. If the best mid talent team has never even won a B1G championship game and the real Bama is winnings NCs left and right.

And..you should go watch that dusty, pos, 30 for 30 again, so you can reminisce about the good ole days.

I have a digital HD copy. No dust. No scratches.

We have watch parties during the season. I’d invite you to join, but the party is for adults, and we can’t accept your fake ID.

1.) Iowa actually HAS won the BIG 10 twice during Kirk Ferentz's tenure/career.

2.) I never said that Iowa was Alabama if you negate the talent difference. I said that they are as GOOD as Alabama, relative to the talent that they acquire. Meaning what they have been able to accomplish during Ferentz's tenure is just as impressive of a feat.

But I keep telling you the same **** man over & over, and you're just not understanding. It's pointless to focus on hoe *** recruiting rankings, without also taking into account the level of coaching, as it pertains to evaluating/assessing & developing talent. Because without those other contributing factors, the validity/accuracy/integrity of those rankings becomes severely compromised. This is what EthnicSands was talking about when he said that recruiting rankings/ratings are only DIRECTIONALLY relevant.

Will you and those fine folks be drinking prune juice at the party??

Maybe. I think your grandmother left some at party before the Gators game. Prune juice and Chivas, man can she drink her liquor! Had to shut it down though. She got out of hand, wanting to fight with your mother to see who gave the best.....lap dance. We wanted no part of that, so we got them an Uber and sent them over to a retirement village three blocks east. Hope they’re okay.

Iowa last won the Big 10 in 2004.

The better response is Iowa kicked Urban Meyer’s *** by 31 points in 2017. Coaching.
But then, he lost at home to FCS North Dakota State in 2016. Coaching, again!
