This Was Not a Bad UF Team

I feel they are so badly coached and prepared but yes, they have plenty of talented players. But I’m not going to act like they actually played well defensively last night. They were so out of position all over the field and there were so many open receivers. Beck was inconsistent, getting down mentally, and not seeing the field like he has the ability to. Everyone has bad games. He just has to bounce back. I. In the deep playoff age teams have to get better throughout the season.

We won 26-7. It could have easily been 34-7 or 37-7 had the refs not blown the whistle or Mario kicks the FG at the end. ****, we could have run it 3-4 more times for another 7

Poorly coached and they don't have the nuts to go 4 full quarters...and, well, they couldn't.

Just because your ******** went tight after the gator touchdown, doesn't mean it was a close game. Much like last week's game versus LSU, this one felt bureaucratic...long, but it got done eventually. 19 point win. Like a strategy for a world title fight...come out and established dominance early, then settle in to take them into deep waters and you lose a few rounds, but turn it on in championship rounds and finish with a dominant win.

They have a good defense, but they got beat down and bludgeoned all game long and struggled to get off the field and couldn't when the game might have felt just in reach to take over. But those early body blows showed the damage late in the game where Miami just bulldozed them to a finish.

Much of the issues Miami had were of their own doing. Tons of penalties (hallmark of Mario Cristobal teams ffs
), and a really bad call that would have made the game a blowout early. Maybe Florida stole a round or two after they started taking Miami to the outside, but no big deal all game long.
There lies my issue with Mario and Mario lead teams. Expecting perfection is unrealistic but at what point to do we stop seeing the same old issues? You almost always expect at a point in the game Miami offense is going to get into a lull that keeps the other team in the game or gives them a chance to get momentum. You can expect penalties to hurt the team. You can expect Mario to go into a shell and get ultra conservative.

Last night, we were extremely fortunate that Lagway is as bad as he is or we might be having a different discussion.

I do see a greatly improved defense and shoutout to Mario for going to get a guy that makes such a huge difference in Corey.

No question their schedule is insane.

The rest is just excuses. How is your team good if it's poorly coached? You can have a talented team, it's poorly coached, but you're still not a good team.

If the culture is rotten, again, that isn't a good team.

There's nothing archaic about it. We've been everything you said they are talented, poorly coached, and had a bad culture. Coaches lost jobs because of it. We didn't say we were a good team when those things happened so why would we say that about them?

They aren't a good team and the metric is the record.
we’re arguing semantics here my dude. You’re saying a good team by definition must have a good record. I and many other people disagree with that definition. A lot of bad teams end up with good records at the end of the year and then are exposed by good teams. Record is a very relative metric with many factors.

We will def see the 2 high safety look again this season. Carson and Dawson have to work on short and over the middle execution for when we inevitably see this type of coverage again. Other than that, gators stink.
TE play and Toney will be eating… schott needs more reps.

Plus let’s be honest if they wanna sit two deep with safety’s were going to run the ball at will all the way down the field and own the TOP and play keep away.

I’ll be the first to admit I was a little annoyed we didn’t have an aerial display of a beat down on the GAYtors…but seeing how we could simply dominate the trenches on both sides and never have a doubt for a win was so **** impressive

If the Gators had an offense, they would have been undefeated and ranked ahead of us. So would being in a close game or even losing close really be this huge indictment on the team?

They have a legit defense which has showed up every game this season.

They basically have a Qb and HC problem.

They've been in every game they've lost and in position to win them all.

Glad we ran into them last night before the trip up North. Nice lil wake up call.
Agree. Goes to show just how much of a difference being good to excellent up front makes. They’ve lost two nail biters against a very good and good team with a horrendous QB situation and very little discipline.

UF is just a few plays from having a very different record.

Granted, their record is what it is and they didn't make those plays...

But they are not a "cellar dwellar" team.

that drop was indeed a total killer, especially when your QB is a bit off. But CJ has been a stud and it was rainy/wet so **** happens
watching CJ warming up, he was dropping every other pass, he was frustrated, Beck looked like he was trying to guide the ball, instead of letting it rip. It wasn't exactly synchronizing swimming, during warmups.

What is really stopping us, how many procedures penalties are we going to incur. ****, our center had how many infractions by himself. Also, it looks like Lofton should have had like 8 catches on Saturday.

Nah, they suck.

Yes their defense is very solid. But even so we left points on the field, and had a TD stolen by the zebras. This was a 4 score beatdown, even with our offense having an off night.

A talented roster does not equal a good, or even average team. Nobody watched that game Sat night and thought they belonged on the field with us.

We had 6 penalties for 30 yards. At least half of those were because of Brockermeyer. I don’t understand the need for the slander, especially given the overall tone of the rest of your porst.
