This type of game needed to happen

Two things can be true. This team can be different.

And this team was also not battle tested together.

Cam has played a lot of stat stuff football. But very little winning and clutch football.

There are only a few guys that have been on this team for the last 2 full seasons. The guys we are relying on were here last year or new.

A wake up call means you were smelling yourself. If our first conference game after beating up on G5 schools and coaches isn't enough to have you ready this is the same Canes. Cam is the only reason I believe in this team so anything being different relies heavily on him.
 
Great game and incredible crowd! I'm exhausted...was a **** show getting out of the stadium!

Hats off to VT. The history between the two teams delivering unbelievable finishes dates back to the Big East days and last night certainly disappoint! I knew Drones would bring it as he and Ward are cousins.

As to our Canes, I saw a team that did not give up and found a way to win. That's a resilient bunch. And Ward, what else can you say that hasn't. Hope he can just continue learning and growing this season as he's an amazing player! What a thrill to watch him in person. Smooth.......
 
this gives our team the edge the rest of the season


now everyone will be talking **** the next few months saying we stole a game

of course winning is everything, but agree with the main sentiment here that it probably couldn't have gone better for us and mindset of the team going forward

I see your point, but X might be the most reliable receiver in the NCAA. As long as he’s in the game I believe 😂

I'm no so sure. Even vs florida, we've been a 3rd qtr team mostly. Yeah we've had some good first drives on O, but we've looked bad in the 2nd qtr on O and D in every game. You can't turn the ball over 3 times and rely on our 2nd half team.

I've said it in many of the run game threads, this team can win a ACC, don't think it can win a NC

georgia beat kentucky 13-12, does that mean gerogia can't win a title?

it's ONE game man, yeah there's stuff to clean up but don't come in here after 5-0 and try to put a ceiling on the team when we have the best QB in the nation, a top 1 offense, and a DC who's overall been excellent

any given Saturday this team with cam ward can win, nobody is THAT much better than us
 
Coaches need to see it coming and have a plan to get it under control, and not leave it in the hands of others, like the referees. There’s no excuse for it.

I thought Pry out coached Mario last night. Sure he had some bone head plays like the fake FG but if it works he’s a genius.

Mario is a great recruiter but on game day he’s a liability. This is why I thought Lane Kiffin was the better choice but we will see how it plays out.

I've watched every snap multiple times all season. And I'm not making some dumb claims based on VT.

You don't win a NC with our secondary and our run game. Cold hard facts. Everyone's rebuttal to me was "we got cam, look at LSU in 19".

Watch the games. Sure you win any game. Doing it consistently will de difficult. Doing it against multiple top end sec teams back to back will not be in our favor

do you mean the run game that averaged 5.2 yards per carry last night? more like 6+ if you take out cam's sacks?

Or you can just watch the games and quit throwing stat lines at me. Not going to argue about it. We aren't a NC team.

If we win the acc and look good vs a top end sec team, I'll gladly come back and eat crow.

Hearing josh pate and others feed the ego of this team irks me. We have major flaws. We also have cam ward lol

I will always take the W but these excuses and narratives need to stop.
 
We executed on offense every time that we needed to in the clutch to win this game. Regardless of the turnovers we were able to take the game away from them. Thats the sign of a tough team.

You just have this confidence that Cam's going to make the right play and mainly he does.
