Hard to argue, I'll admit, it was somewhat of a loaded question, speaking more towards the idea of why that article was even written. At this point, it doesn't benifit UNC to protect Butch Davis. If the entity they employed to investigate found Davis as a knowing actor in their academic scam, wouldn't they have assassinated him?

I thought UNC had and was still shelling out coin to Davis as part of their divorce...uncovering dirt would help nulify and/or recover several Mil.

That could be because he recruited every one of our NC teams except Howard's. Just saying, if recruiting is the lifeblood of college football, then Butch frigging Davis is Mississippi river of blood. He never had a hint of ncaa crap here; the opposite is true--there were violations before him under Howard, after him with Dennis and Larry but never with him. Clearly NC is a dirt bag university. Butch might indeed be untouchable, but it is completely undeserved and sad.

Pretty sure the reason he doesn't have a HC gig already is because EVERYONE knew that the UNC investigation was still ongoing. No one wanted to hire him and then find out a year later that he was actually deeply involved in all the shenanigans.

Butch and the truth have had a tumultuous relationship over the years, so I doubt that too many astute people were all that interested in taking his version of what happened as the final word on it. I'm sure people are waiting to see how it ultimately plays out.
