This is not the first time the Big & Pac have gone against the grain.

I wouldn't say that they're going against the grain, I actually think they're going with the flow...

A lot of people want Football canceled for the Fall & there were a ton of people that were ready to give the B1G & Pac-12 a standing ovation for prematurely canning the season under the guise of "health & safety".

They made a knee jerk reaction & proliferated it through the media before they made their announcements in hopes that it would catch on like wildfire & everybody else would jump off the boat with them & then when the rest of conferences just decided to stay the course full steam ahead the B1G & Pac were left floating in the water looking lost.

There's still a concerted effort going on by lots of people behind the scenes trying to ensure that there is no college football played & Covid is being used as the reason to mask what their real agenda is.
Last paragraph- Last five words, Thank You

Coincidentally, you know what a lot of states that comprise the SEC, Big 12, and ACC are? Right to work states... aka no unions. Green states are no unions allowed, grey allows unions. Funny how that looks on conference lines.
Right to work does not mean no unions allowed. It means you cannot be forced to join a union as a condition of employment.

I think what we all have to agree on is that there is something very fishy going on.

A majority of players and coaches want transparency and answers to basic questions and concerns and no one at the Conference decision making level is being frank and honest about the real reasons that they are ending/postponing football in the Big 10 and Pac 12.

Until we all get solid answers there will be conspiracy theories and people jumping to political conclusions.

U realize they aren’t really going against the grain

Two fold

1) they want more revenue from fans and feel there is a better chance of that happening in the spring. They assumed everyone would join them in postponing but thought wrong. They figure worst case scenario they are exactly where they are now in the spring, best case they have fans.

2) They want to shut down players from pooling together and rising up against the schools. No football means no potential to unionize. They again missed the mark on this

if this was about health why are they allowing the kids to continue to practice and why aren’t they mandating the schools provide health insurance for the players?

this is and will always be about money, revenue from fans and keeping it away from the players.
1) seems plausible and fair, its business dwsicions, that's what they are;

2) Its unfortunate the players are doing this now, if they really care.about it, they would just not play in a normal year and actually do it. But isnt this just typical corporation business, dont most business in america discourage any labour group from unionizing?

Both items seems business as usual in corporate America. I dont agree, just saying, should we be surprised?

What’s the real agenda?

I don’t agree with a decision to postpone sports but have students on campus, but I am pretty sure the issue/concern is liability for long term health problems, especially of over weight athletes and possible heart problems. I think this concern is overblown, and is hypocritical as any student could have this issue from Covid.
But, we would be hard pressed that postponing college football is a political decision to remove someone from office, no matter how incompetent, immature and awful a human being the person in office maybe. Why? Because the financial hit the schools are taking is so great that it overpowers politics. Schools, like any business, may care about politics but not more so than they care about money. So when you look for a rational answer to the question of why, look to the money. It is, has been, and will always be the strongest motivator.
Sorry but bye, bro. See you in some other thread.

He won’t be replying in this thread. And numerous posts were deleted after the fact.
I get it, but just for the record, I didn’t report it. In fact, I haven’t made a single report about this.

I thought it might have skirted the issue. But I get why you’re doing this, other people might have responded a little less jocularly than I. I think @Ash Joshi is a good guy.

I don’t think he was reported, I just happened to see it. I’ll have to check.

I like him a lot as a poster. This isn’t a personal thing. I have to do what I said I would regardless of who it is. This board has gone into a bad vortex and somebody’s got to do something. I really don’t want to discuss it much all over the board though as that just further takes away from threads.

I will simply note again that in some cases counter-punchers may catch thread reply bans too.
