This is hilarious

16 team playoff beginning next year I bet. No need to wait and I doubt they will.

Just pull the bandaid off and go to 16 already. All the power brokers have been begging for it.
I for one just can’t understand this line of thinking for the people who want to move it to 16 teams. Then you will have the #17 complaining about being left out like we are complaining this year. There will always be teams that feel slighted.

At some point, someone needs to think about these kids and what happens to their bodies playing this brutal game as teenagers. I hope it doesn’t take somebody literally dying on the field before there is a wake up call to all of the greed.

Same there will always be bubble teams

Oh for sure. I have been saying for weeks Miami is out. The committee has been rigging it for who they want for multiple weeks. Nothing changes that. They don’t care about results. They are picking who they want to.
Yes sir. The Bama move up to 9 was for the very likelihood that them and BYU lose it would protect Bama and ND. The committee was playing checkers it sèems

Personally I love the chaos. Anything that helps blow up the system, because it is a joke and everyone knows it. The biggest problem is the next iteration is going to be just as ridiculous and absurd.

Don’t you think the entire nation is on the edge of its seat waiting to see riveting matchups like James Madison at Oregon and Tulane at Texas A&M? Or even better, a rematch of the Tulane Ole Miss instant classic 45-10 game from earlier this year? I mean, what a treat for college football fans!

Also, to those of you that think it’s unimaginable that Alabama gets left out - do you not remember that they missed the playoff last year too? Bottom line I think we’re in and will be playing at Oklahoma

Run Away The Office GIF

Scenes of committee members if they announce to leave Alabama out of the playoffs.
The Alabama fans would be in the parking lot waiting for the committee. Too bad we aren’t the bad boys anymore, we would have some some bad hombres waiting in the lot.

At the end of the day, wtf is going on?!?!?! What moron came up with a formula that gets #15 or worse ranked teams in before uhmm #12 or #11 ranked teams?!?! Why are there conference promises or locks. The top 12 teams get in period.
It was to keep the other conferences involved. Otherwise there may have been the scenario that only two conferences would participate in the tournament, seeing that it would otherwise be very heavily weighted towards being an SEC vs Big Ten tournament. Remove the conference winner spots and that is what it becomes.

They leave and you get a second “national championship” tournament, and that’s bad for ESPN and the SEC/Big Ten.

This is the biggest disaster scenario ever for the committee, espn, ACC and college football.

It’s about to blow the whole things up. You are either not going to punish teams for conference losses, punish for conference losses, keep out a P4 conference, let in two group of 5 teams, or show its all 100% rigged.

There is no way this doesn’t get really messy. It’s going to lead to major changes in college football. We could conference championships dissolved, 16 team playoff, new conference alignment or just two power conferences.

This season is about to bring a wrecking ball to college football as we know it.

Who wants to watch Tulane and JMU get throttled? Auto bids are likely going away and it will just be top ranked teams at the end of the year.
Jim Phillips needs to be fired stat for allowing the acc to be in this position. He has 3 really strong football brands while the Big12 arguably has none and yormarck has at least kept them somewhat relevant.

The new ACC commissioner needs to work with the Big12 and maybe even the big 10 to change the cfp. Right now the SEC has too much control and it’s killing the sport.

Getting bumped out of the playoffs by the committee after losing your conference championship game is not something new. The committee has already done it in the past more than once. In fact Alabama was the beneficiary of this in 2017 when they were idle and jumped Auburn who lost the sec championship. An auburn team they had just lost to by double digits the previous week!!!!! That was 8 years ago and the conference champ games are still here and you probably don't even remember this happened.

Agreed. You get 16 teams, they’d just put in Texas, Vandy, and hmmmm how about Missouri just because

This needs to happen.

The Big 12 and ACC combined could only have one team in the Playoffs. The SEC and Big Ten are taking all of the oxygen in the room.

2 out of 4 years you get your top team politicked out of the CFP. Can’t believe this dude wasn’t made to resign due to the Northwestern crap that cost Fitzgerald his job…
