This is the biggest disaster scenario ever for the committee, espn, ACC and college football.

It’s about to blow the whole things up. You are either not going to punish teams for conference losses, punish for conference losses, keep out a P4 conference, let in two group of 5 teams, or show its all 100% rigged.

There is no way this doesn’t get really messy. It’s going to lead to major changes in college football. We could conference championships dissolved, 16 team playoff, new conference alignment or just two power conferences.

This season is about to bring a wrecking ball to college football as we know it.

Who wants to watch Tulane and JMU get throttled? Auto bids are likely going away and it will just be top ranked teams at the end of the year.

Scenes of committee members if they announce to leave Alabama out of the playoffs.

Spit on 🎯!

I was picturing JMU opening with Indiana lmao what’s the attraction but a beating.

Miami will play like TT and will be a threat to win it all , you would think this would be the goal of CFP the best product!

But this is my common sense speaking

They can’t keep changing the rules, moving the trucks around & making it up as they go. That’s when it looks rigged. SEC really shilling to get Alabama in since they didn’t make it last year. DeBoer was already beating his gums in the post game about how the loss shouldn’t affect them, they had injuries, blah blah (who doesn’t?)

Give the G5 their own playoffs

Ain’t no body trying to watch James Madison over Miami/ND/Alabama

I think this is the last year they allow this as too much money and power is involved especially if the ACC gets left out completely.

You a lot of really good/solid teams at home with big money markets in power conferences while ppl watch Tulane and JMU. Yeah they aren’t going to let that happen again.

Someone suggested getting rid of the Conferences championship games completely as well as the weekly Tuesday playoff ranking show and just start the playoffs earlier with the best 12 teams. It could change to the top 16 teams chosen by the committee.
I believe Herbie on game day.

Gotta get rid of auto bids for sure. If G5 team is undefeated and ranked in top 12 then sure. But if not too bad
I don't agree fully. On one hand, I think the G5 should just have their own tournament. It'd get good ratings, IMO.

For the Power4, winning your conference needs to mean something. An auto-bid to the dance is a worthy something. Its cool in basketball and you end up getting some fun wacky ****, but ultimately helps parse down those teams on the bubble...which yesterday - IN THEORY - should have done with a 3rd loss for Alabama (especially in the fashion that they lost) should have eliminated them.

Its on the conferences to make sure those conference title games and auto-bid gives you the best two representatives of that conference to get your best team(s) in the field. Its on the ACC that Duke is the conference champ with their absolute buffoonery of a tie-breaker policy. Duke should be getting a nice solid #12 seed today and good for them...a playoff selection that is very much independent of Miami's deserved inclusion.

“We’ve seen the results and we’ve heard the people. Next year we will be scrapping this flawed format and instead embark on pods of games. These games will feature matches that people want to see. They will be based upon ranking, and we will begin to announce them and lock them down as early as mid season.

We call this new system…the college bowl system.”
