whatever. idiots on this board spent money on a banner praising her last season for getting us through the "cloud"

it's amazing to me that you now want golden and Donna gone but 14 months ago you loved them both. don't you see that you created the problem? if the fan base would have gotten angry after our losses to Kansas State and ND in 2012 then we wouldn't be in this position today.

everyone rags on Sileo and others but they were the ones who were correct on this. slurping Donna and Al for 4 years is why we suck today.

As I mentioned in my other post...there were several of us still calling Shalala a piece of **** during that time she "stood up" to the NCAA and some on this board crowned here the 21st century version of Joan of Arc

And don't get me started on Golden...again...many of have been calling for his head waaaayyy before the Penn State fiasco happened.

Cheap, no buyout and available. Wiling to take a favorable contract (towards UM). Solves everything the troll loves. Let's ignore Butch for a moment and move onto the real issue.

How come UF can hire a new president and coach in the same season? It is because their AD has the power and authority. At Miami, we micromanage and that explains why we're in the situation we're in today. We believe in self-inflicted cancer, puppet ADs and micromanaging sports.

Does Shalala stand on a 7 phone books when you toss her salad? Slurpers unite. Oh and be nice on social media.

And before her, Tad Foote, who was not popular with most football fans, raised a ton of money, too, I believe.

I was thinking about all the successful fund raising. I don't know how they do it, since the university doesn't have a big alumni base, there are not a lot of the types of companies in south Florida that might like to support certain kinds of research at a university..I'm not sure what the secret is.

And why not just sign next coach w no buyouts either way? Stoops and Petrino have this contract and they aren't complaining.
Pitino has same deal too.

Now, I do see the point of not wanting the troll and tranny involved in the next coaching search based on their prior decisions. That is valid

Many people on this board (including some of the "higher ups") sang her praises...many of us meanwhile...kept citing that she was still a piece of **** and a cancer in regards to the football program.

That woman may have raised a lot of money and done "some" good things for the university...but she has also torn this football program down to the ground. She doesn't care about football, she never has. Anyone who thinks otherwise should shoot themselves in the face.

Maybe it's just the biggest coincidence of all time that the hobbit became president AFTER the 2001 season and the program has been in full downward spiral ever since.

Lots of our NCAA problems could be laid directly at her feet - and then she gets credit for being tough?

Shalala took over a University sitting at the top of the sports world. #1 in Football, #1 in Baseball.
Since then.......we suck. We've sucked for a decade now. As far as the NCAA goes, she loved Shapiro, she allowed Shapiro to be close to the football program. It was on her watch. And let's not even begin with her handling of the Orange Bowl fiasco. If she gets credit for raising the money, she gets the discredit for the miss-management of the athletic programs as well.

Don't like a lot of what I see here, especially the over-the-top hatred, but you're right. It all occurred on her watch. She was greedy for the Shapiro money. A good source close to the athletic department, former very high officer in the Hurricane Club who was intimately involved with athletics for years, told me that they were warned about Shapiro, but were apparently blinded by the money. I would guess this would be Dee and Shalala. From what I recall from other reports, Randy Shannon had better sense, and smelled a rat, and told the players to stay away.

I think it could have been even worse. We had a lot of kids getting boat rides, bowling trips, maybe hookers and abortions. It could have been players on straight salary and retainer, which definitely would have made it worse.
