This is a massive opportunity on Saturday

These OOCG (Out of Conference Games) set us up to have a nice resume if we win them. ND, USF, and UF. All potentially winnable. ACC schedule, I believe we win them all based on the LOS (line of scrimmage) on both sides of ball. But if we go 5-0 OOCG, then, at worst lose one or both of the last two games on the schedule, I don't see how we don't get in to either the ACC championship or the playoff. But am excited to see because I really believe this team is special.

MUCH bigger opportunity than we thought when the schedule was released.

Look, we’re all focused on Charlotte, and rightfully so. But last year, we didn’t get in the playoff because we beat absolutely nobody with a pulse.

This year, we already have a win against Notre Dame. Obviously they still have 11 games to play, so who knows how the season will turn out, but they’re still -130 to make the playoffs. Most will say they will likely be a playoff team. So we already have a win on the resume against a likely playoff team.

But what about Saturday? I’m not sure if people really have their minds wrapped around this, but NOBODY in the country has two better wins than USF. They’re now +450 to make the playoffs. They have the 2nd best odds to win the American conference. After our game, they will likely be favored to win their next 9 games. This literally could be the G5 representative in the playoff. Right now, them and Tulsa are the co-favorites to do so.

This is a huge opportunity for us. If we go beat the brakes off them, does anyone in the country have a better resume than us at this point? And way more importantly, for a playoff resume, you have a win already over TWO very possible playoff teams by mid-September.

When the schedule was released, this was basically a throw-away game. A lose/lose. But now, this becomes a legitimate resume booster. I hope everyone understands that and comes out this week with our best effort. This is a very fortunate opportunity that fell into our laps that nobody saw coming. Seize it.
South Florida will be a playoff team if they win their conference. They have 2 good wins against teams that were completely overrated. It looks good on the books. I'll take adding another top 20 win to our resume.

I want an ACC title more than anything. I don't want to get into the CFP as non conference selection. I'll take it if that happens, but if we go to the CFP without winning the ACC and lose early, we've accomplished very little.

Boosting our resume with top 20 wins is icing on the cake. Win the ACC and get that monkey off our backs. To not win the ACC with the best roster we've had since joining the conference would be humiliating especially if we lost it to FSU.

Gotta build the resume, but we can't have let downs later in the season. OOCGs are important, but winning the ACC is of the utmost importance! Go Canes! Will be in attendance, so we need to pack the Rock and not worry about the CW

Insane.

Very, but it's true.

And, not to get ahead of ourselves, but while we all agreed the schedule would be tougher this year, NOBODY would have believed that we could potentially get to 5-0 with wins over:

A Top 10 ND
A Ranked USF
A Ranked UiF (if they beat LSU this week, yes I know not certain but not out of the question)
A Top 10 FSU

Last year, we didn't beat a single ranked team.

This year, we could potentially have beaten FOUR by the first weekend in October.

But, first things first, handle these loveable losers this weekend. Hammer their asses. We got a total gift......a game we all rolled our eyes about and was looked at as a speedbump between ND and UiF/FSU now becomes a true resume builder. This team is the leader in the clubhouse (don't laugh, I know it's been two whole weeks) to be in the playoff. A ton of the national pundits are arguing they should be higher than #18, and in reality, they should. So don't take this for granted. You have been gifted a completely unexpected opportunity to beat the **** out of a "good team". Do it.

Louisville, while they didn’t look great on Friday, will be ranked as well by mid October when we face them if they get past Pitt and Virginia and are 5-0.
