This GIF says it all

Thought I read in the game thread, and I was drinking last night, that Cooney or Baez actually grabbed TVD and drug him over to the group, kinda made him take that pic?
That would change my opinion of it a bit, but it's still not the biggest issue.

See, this is that bullsh!t I talk about.

This is that "fun boy" ****.

The fvck are you doing taking goofy *** pictures while you're still down to Virginia?! You should be ****ed off that you're even in a dog fight with Virginia. Too ****ed off to take fun pictures.

And WTF are the pictures for anyway? You going to save them, and reminisce about the night you lost to Virginia?

I can't say this enthusiastically enough...

GET THIS BULLSH!T AWAY FROM MY FAVORITE PROGRAM!!!

This is not Miami football!
This would never happen on any competent coach’s sideline

If TVD was your kid, would you want a copy of that picture?
Is this the biggest problem from last night?
Is it even in the top 10?
Does it take focus away from the real problem?
This isn’t my biggest problem, but it’s the optics and it’s one of the many things wrong with our program. I’m 24, so I find I’m able to speak on these things without being “old guy kicking people off my lawn”. If I was TVD or any of this, I would hate this. It’s participation trophy culture at its finest. You’ve put up 7 points against a mediocre team in **** near two quarters. That’s not ground for taking a team picture celebrating

Maybe that's part of it. I'm seeing it from a parent's perspective.

Thank you for saying this on behalf of an older dude who takes his lawn care very seriously.

How far have we fallen that we're happy about pulling within two against Virginia?
pretty far...but the kids are genuinely happy about it and the coaches are apparently good with it; but that is another issue.

I get that completely. But it was TVD's first touchdown in his first game as starter. There's nothing wrong with taking that picture.
Who cares? This ain't senior prom.

The next HC will need to completely reprogram this team. Spring practice needs to be like a Marine boot camp.

Unfortunately you are right about this generation.... it is a me, me, me obsession.

I observe at youth basketball tournaments since my son plays in the league. Teams lose by 15 and all these kids are interested in, is running to check their individual scoring stats and their highlight clips...

It's 100% a microcosm of our problems.
We don't approach football like a business, we are focused on flash and fun, and we celebrate mediocrity.

What's weird to me is, most high schools don't even act this way.
STA would not be celebrating and taking pics on the sideline if they were down 9-7 to Stranahan High School.

If you're down 9-7 to a garbage opponent then that means you've likely fvcked up multiple times already (as a team), and it's time to get your fvckin' head in the game and start playing football...it's not a time to have 'fun' and make memories.

HS football players will lose a game, then immediately ask when the film will be uploaded so they can upgrade their Hudl highlights.

Isn't that where the staff would step in and point that out? If it's like someone said and the staff encouraged this, it's on them.

My entire point is that it's not the fault of the players, it's on the staff.
