this crap gave me chills!!! man i miss these days and this type of leadership we had. i think we have it now w/ duke, and th3 and bush for that matter and definitely chad...but golden have these dudes neutered. we play like gentlemen on the field. that's why duke is my guy. everytime he rushes for 3 or more yards, he is in your ear letting you know about it. we need that.

Went 9-4, two of those loses came against two teams that played in the MNC game...one came against a PSU team who up until the last few weeks were at the top of the national championship conversation, and an ECU team who were on such an emotional roller coaster (hurricane displaced a lot of players and students...game moved to NC State) that I believe they could have taken on New England and won (I exaggerate, but still). ECU also spent a lot of that season ranked in the top 25, so it wasn't like we got beat by Wyoming Technical Community College. That's what they did after that game. It was obvious that team was on the cusp of something great, this team (or the coaches really) aren't going 9-4, they aren't going 11-1 next year and they sure as **** aren't going to dominate football and win it all in 2 years.

I'm glad I savored our glory years, including taping the majority of the games and saving the tapes. I was under no illusion that we were birthrighted to maintain that level, or anything resembling it. It helped that I experienced the late '60s and throughout the '70s. In those days I hoped the program would reach the level of an occasional minor bowl.
Besides, we received a bit of a hint once the Dolphins abandoned the Orange Bowl in 1987. They had no clue what they were giving up. I hoped the Canes would never make the same mistake but it seemed inevitable.

butch lost to a washington team that might have had a better argument than us to play oklahoma. they beat us and had same record, how fsu ever got that game was a joke. Anyway, we got blow out by a l-ville team with a new qb, new coach, parker and dyer out. unreal

I posted this thread, not to troll, not with blind faith, but because I knew what I was seeing. I got blasted with negs and now my rep on this board sucks because I had optimism, wow. This team IS in fact shaping up to be that team that "turns the corner". I should get some kind of retribution (likes) for this lol.

Soooo you gonna act like you don't notice that Miami is playing a different brand of football the past 3 games? All things considered, most people on this board thought we were going 6-6 maybe 5-7.

Because this forum is full of whiny little babies. We could've won the past 3 games 70-0 in each one and they'd still ***** about the 3 we loss. If we played like we did these past 3 games this whole season, we'd likely be undefeated right now. Sadly the coaching staff took too long to notice that aggressive schemes work....

We only had one Big East loss that year to #2 VaTech. Beat #9 Ohio State and #17 GaTech. Lost to #1 FSU by only 10 and lost to #3 Penn State by only 3. How does that compare to double digit losses to Louisville, GaTech and Nebraska? We also finished the season #15, 9-4 with a BRUTAL schedule.
