Things Are Different, But…

We don't need their recruits to beat the likes of Pitt or UNC. That is what I am saying. We have enough talent that a competant coaching staff can win the Coastal. I am not rooting for losses. In fact I have said numerous times I think we win the Coastal, so if we lose 4 games I won't be able to say "I told you so". Your a great value version of Paul Finebaum except instead of slurping Saban you slurp Mario.
I’ve said we could win the costal but u said 10 games as if this isn’t a transition year for the entire program top to bottom.

We dont have a big enough gap of talent to dominate the coastal. I have said 8-4 maybe 9-3 plenty of times because of how mediocre we are at the LOS.

I dont slurp anyone I just look at stuff as it is without the hype or negative **** and form my opinion, its obvious what u do lol. Never seen u say anything about football or anything positive about the program its just negative agendas all day long.

Yes, we should win 10 games. We have 10 games against teams with significantly less talent than us. We should be running the score up on those teams with TVD and his weapons.

You do slurp, and you purely look at it with hype. I have posted positives in the past, but sadly with our current administration there is very little positives to post about. Only real positive is that we are finally spending a ton of money and got a couple good position coaches.

You just keep proving my point for me lol.

If your point is "OGH is a very unbiased poster who lets facts dictate his opinions". Yes I am proving your point.
If we only have a couple good position coaches and nothing is good about our current administration how are we gonna win 10 games? Sounds like a **** show to me

Because we have a talent advantage over everyone in the coastal. We should have no problem beating those 10 teams. Any decent coaching staff should be able to get us to the Coastal. If we don't win the Coastal this season then we do in fact have a schit show on our hands.

no excuse at all for anything less than 10 wins

Rells my guy I hear what you’re saying. That’s why it’s important to see improvement. Who we lose games to matters more as well. If it’s a close one against Clemson or A&M (both in the road) then people will be alright. If it’s a close one against a coastal team, then how much has changed?

Additionally I know undefeated is really hard. But that’s why these coaches have to hit the ground running and reach the first goal. Make it to the ACC title game. Do something we haven’t done in 5 years. That’s the first step. Parlay that in year 2 to actually winning the thing. Just keep building and building each year. No steps backwards. If we see that I don’t think you’ll hear much noise.

I agree. Mario’s first year will involve heavy rebuilding. Our goal should be to win the Coastal, beat FSU, and look halfway decent against A&M/Clemson.

8-4 or 9-3 seems likely. People assuming we’re going to overcome a below average roster in myriad positions and win 10+ games are crazy.

If it happens, it’s a testament to the staff and players. My expectations will be a lot higher year 2 and beyond, but right now people have to take off the orange and green glasses and realize we’re not going to be a juggernaut in 22.

this will be a test for all his diehards, to understand in the wake of short-term disappointments to comprehend the big picture. Butch was a victim of this in 97 as short-sighted fans were really on his case.

Sometimes, it's not if you lose but HOW you lose and compete

Personally, I'm just going to enjoy this next season, regardless
I'm in the same boat. I can see the trajectory of the program changing in everything we are doing, just need to give the coaches time to re-shape the roster.

Id be satisfied if UM wins every game they are expected to, and steal one that they're not

They do that, it's a solid start to Mario's run, and you go on from there and keep building this thing out
