There's a Path

Can I just add- to the people who say Miami put itself in this mess by losing to Louisville and SMU. Ok, sure Louisville was a mess. But Miami had squeaked out a road victory against SMU- the refs stole that game with the BS roughing the passer, where Lightfoot clearly doesn’t hear the whistle and even tries to hold up the qb when he realizes the play is dead. And then the refs pick up a PI flag in OT that ended up giving the game to SMU. Why do Miami fans fault the team and Mario for crooked referees? Is Miami expected to play its best game every game of the season? No team does that. Miami did enough to win- we were robbed of the W.

I wonder if we took it to court and got an emergency stay for the ACC CG, just how much would that muck everything up. I don't think it would work, but I sure as **** would like to see the fireworks.

I feel the same way. That's why every time the @ACCFootball account on X/Twitter posts something showing why Miami is deserving of a playoff bid, I have been lighting into them. We have been complaining for years about their crooked officiating, and the conference never did a thing. Now they want to be pro Miami??? F*** that. They have treated Miami like an unwanted stepchild for years, but now they see they may have cheated their way into no ACC school making the playoffs. F*** the ACC and their officials!!!!

They probably won’t do it, but ranking Bama behind Miami this week is the easiest way for the committee to wash their hands of next week’s mess and just let it play out on the field.

Miami jumped three spots in FPI and Bama dropped one. In SP+, Miami moved up two and Bama fell two, putting Miami a few spots ahead. Just got a ranked win while bama barely beat a coachless **** team. The move could be justified.
If they put us ahead of Bama, we'll probably need to jump ND too. Unless they have ND jump OU and/or Ole Miss.

Then it could be:
7. ND
8. Ole Miss
9. OU
10. Miami
11. Bama

There’s no legal merit to that. The ACC is stupid but they didn’t violate the rules they adopted.

Now if we are left out and ND/Miss get in, then there may be legal fireworks as the Committee is ignoring their own rules.

I think that’s why DeSantis is pointing specifically to the rules of the committee.

Don’t be surprised if the State of Florida doesn’t get involved. I doubt the FSU fiasco has been forgotten.

The house of cards protecting them from an Anti-Trust lawsuit, falls apart if they don’t follow their own precedence and rules.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if DeSantis is back channeling this, as well as his tweets the last two weeks.

I recall last year, the CFP D!ckhead saying that any team already slotted for playoffs, would not drop out after a loss in conference championship games.
I think what he said was everyone below Bama was out. Like the only change could’ve been Bama. I could be wrong but I remember when we came in at whatever we were ranked Rece Davis saying no change like the committee said. Or something to that effect.

assuming byu loses and bama wins

the committee will either 1) boot ole miss and continue the precedent set in 2023 that happened to florida state or 2) completely ignore a direct head to head result and seriously put the intregrity of the sport into question

I honestly think they will get us both in because they can explain the former a lot easier than the latter

So SIAP,

As far as tomorrow goes, are we just hoping to be at 11? Cause that would give us about a 5% chance assuming they drop Bama if they get obliterated Saturday? Vs being 12 or lower? Which would basically give us a 0.0% chance? Is that where we are at currently?

No conference champ finalists were on the bubble last year
Bama was last one in and didnt play so how could we jump them
Bama was in unless Clemson won

honestly I think if anything is ever going to happen for us it gets set up tomorrow night

if they are gonna drop ole miss it's tomorrow night

if they are going to put us ahead of ND it's tomorrow night

if they are going to ever put us above bama it's tomorrow night

if they are going to drop OU out (least likely), it would be tomorrow night

if we are 12th we're ****ed

If they leave Miami out of the playoffs I need Mario to stop with the nice guy act. They are gonna hate us anyway. Might as well put up 60 on everyone we can.

I know Toney, Pringle, Upshaw, Moore, Fitzgerald shi too many to name, are gonna be ready. If this next class is anything like the last one we will be in a great spot to get revenge.

We're at 12.

My (unlikely) hope is we get to 9. It feels like if we get to 10 they'll have to get us to #9.

But at least at #11 we'd have some hope.

If we stay at #12 then obviously it's over.

And if Miami doesnt get in that bs roughing the passer on Lightfoot is the reason I hope Duke wins and the ACC gets nobody in. I want it to hurt them
