Rooting for a Utah win tomorrow night to speed up this timeline; as no one needs Mario sticking around Eugene to lead the Pac-12 champs into a Rose Bowl rematch against Ohio State, for nostalgia-sake.

Yeah, I have to agree. I really thought Lane was in play, but for all the reasons you stated, at this point, I'm feeling like an agreement written on a ****tail napkin, followed by a firm handshake has been made, and after the PAC12 CH GM, I expect an announcement.

As much as I hate waiting, it will probably be on Monday, knowing how the U loves dramatic tension and pregnant pauses.

Bro you clearly haven't been paying attention for the last 20 years. Miami also moves in silence and comes out on top. You know we got this.

The AD search has indeed been a circus. However, the vast majority of fans and the media covering college football don't care about AD searches. Sure, they might read a blurb and chuckle at our program, but they will quickly forget about it in a New York minute. It's an AD search, not a HC search. Heck, hiring a new OC or DC will garner more media attention and interest from rival programs.

With that said, the HC search has been handled very well. Minimal rumors and hearsay. Almost as if the plan was intentionally to emphasize the AD search while we covertly seal the deal with our new HC. The media and pundits are focused on the wrong search. That bodes well for us...hopefully.

We're definitely exploiting Mario and his family's desire to come home if that ends up being the case. That and the supposed $30M infusion.
