There is no way UM doesn't know "Mario's Answer" by now

The only thing I would say to that is, does it make sense for Mario to know his own answer if he doesn't know the AD? If you were in his position would you say yes without knowing that? He may be in a position that he's expressed interest depending on the AD hire.

That's the thing about this whole process that is still perplexing me. With Mario and Kiffin on the line how do you manage that without telling them who the AD will be?
My guess, and its a guess at best is Mario knows who all candidates are and would not object to said candidates

I keep seeing "what if Mario says no"...I seriously doubt UM is waiting until after the game tomorrow night to see if Mario wants the job (even with lack of organization shown so far). He knows and they know by now. If it weren't him you would have to assume the Kiffin deal would already be done by now or they are just simply keeping Manny...again, as I said before, my gut says Mario is a done deal.

Retaining Manny is probably the nail in the coffin for this program. It’ll send a clear message to recruits and the CFB world: at a time when the big boys are willing to pour in millions upon millions into their football programs, we retained a cheap, D-rated coach. The contrast will be so stark that everyone single person will see it.

I’m in agreement with this. Like I’ve stated I think there is a deal in place for Mario. The list of AD’s are ones that he approves of and wants to work with.
Every single piece of news i’ve seen suggests that Frenk is leaning heavily on the search firm for advice on the AD hire. I doubt Mario, even if a deal is in place, has much say over it. Mario probably just wants a commitment from the university that the next AD will not get in his way and will let Mario have almost full autonomy over football operations. I believe that's the current setup he has at Oregon. The AD at Oregon does Mario's bidding.

At this point, I feel like it is Mario or Manny.
Not hitting the panic button yet, but there's no scenario where Manny should be a choice.

I would rather (and I'm not joking here) make one of his assistants HC if we're basically calling next year a Mulligan as we try to hire an elite coach.

If all these reports are true that Lane wants to come here, but Mario says no, and Manny is retained...

Can't wrap my head around it. It's such a self-hating decision by the school, that my logical mind can't make that scenario work. Give me Likens/Simpson/T-Rob/Shoop, really anybody but Manny, and I think the fans would return for at least the start of the season.

O boy the meltdown on here would be epic if, on Saturday, Mario gets a new deal from Oregon.
Didn’t he already get some form of auto extension a couple weeks back? Let that man get his pac 12 championship bonus and dip.

Would be shocked if Mario isn't Miami's head coach next week.

This is his dream job and his fork in the road moment; 51 years old and either needing to go all-in at Oregon to build a winner there, or to try and do the same at his alma mater.

It's literally now or never for Cristobal to come to Miami; stars aligned with Diaz on his way out and Mario just about ready to roll up his sleeves out west to get busy.

Kids are young enough to come back home, start fresh and get on with their junior high / high school lives—whereas 5-6 years from now that could be more chaotic.

All these big moves being made, too—Rlley to USC, Kelly to LSU—Mario to Miami is a huge splash and with the right resources, he could get the Canes back in business.

Plus, as others have said—if he was staying at Oregon or not interested in the Miami gig—feels like he'd have told them 'no' or publicly having denounced the job right now (to end the speculation).

Rooting for a Utah win tomorrow night to speed up this timeline; as no one needs Mario sticking around Eugene to lead the Pac-12 champs into a Rose Bowl rematch against Ohio State, for nostalgia-sake.

Its gonna happen. The AD search has been a circus and even though we know the culprits, that doesnt change the fact they are on the BOT and they arrest going anywhere. Why even join that mess? The fact that this has even been allowed is insane to me. Maybe there is no way to prevent it, but the way I see it and as been discussed, these people are the enemy within. A move has been made by the University and they are trying to sabotage it...

Unless everything is a ruse, I am not sure why anyone thinks we have an answer yet. If he is as intent on the structure for success as has been mentioned, why would he give us a definitive answer without a new AD in place to affirm what he needs? It has been pretty strongly suggested he isn't unhappy at UO, and that he would leave only for favorable conditions and only for a couple jobs.

Maybe everything is smoke and an AD is hired, Mario has given an answer, and all that info will be dropping Saturday morning, but I think it would not be a safe assumption about his intent until building block 1 of AD is done.

I wouldn't go as far as to say done deal but I would think they have a pretty good indication.
