MEGA There’s Still Hope for the ACCCG/CFB Playoffs Mega Merge Thread

Oregon and USC would just be swapping a playoff spot. That game won't benefit us.
Why exactly would USC be jumping us?? I’m failing to understand the chatter behind this..

I know there’s no logic with the committee, but a team who has the same record and lost to the same top 10 team (ND) we beat jumps us??

Nah.. I don’t see this one..

I think the committee is hoping for nothing more than
A) Miami to lose
Or B) chaos so both Miami & ND get in

Momentum is on their side with two ranked wins & their two losses came against ranked opponents.

I don't like it because we have a common opponent in ND, which we beat, and they didn't, but the committee is biased.

Two bama guys and one taint chode on the dais.

I usually like McElroy's contributions, but it seems that he was only there to pump the Tide (every example/hypothetical involved Bama staying at 10 or going up and staying in).

Galloway is usually a miserable ****, but he didn't say anything too absurd.

Reece Davis made good points and asked the two most pressing questions of the committee chair: when does head-to-head come into play and what does a team risk by playing in a conference championship game?

Yurachek looked like he was having a live colonoscopy during that interview. His eyeballs almost touched the camera lens.

I think us passing Vandy was the committee's tacit blessing to move on up should we win out. It does nobody any good to rank a perennial underachieving choke artist like the Miami Hurricanes high until they finish the season hot. But once that happens... we will be in at 10-2. DMoney is right on this one.

I’ll take back everything bad I said about Fran Brown if they play ND somewhat tough after we handled them. Same with Stanford. If we blow out Pitt we’d have four common opponents vs each other. As well as the H2H. Just gotta keep rolling the team in front of us.
Doubtful. He’s playing the walk on QB again- Filardi

Tom formelli just said on cover 3 podcast that Miami fans should be rooting for usc to upset Oregon. Presumably bc Oregon would be out and we would still be ahead of usc.

Is this wrong? I’ve been rooting for Oregon so just 1 guaranteed above us and usc out of contention. But maybe it is high risk, high reward. ND beat USC h2h. We beat ND. Gives committee a way to out both Miami and ND in, while just leaving USC at 12 and Oregon at 13.

That seems logical. Problem is, this committee is not using logic to inform their decisions. I’d be very worried that we would be behind both if Oregon lost.

This tells you everything. The committee is not going to put us head of ND. It’ll never happen, so we might as well not waste our time fighting it. We need to either somehow make the acc championship game, or have 3 of these 4 teams lose: Utah, BYU, Bama, Oklahaoma.

the mental gymnastics and incompetence happening here is truly something…how ridiculous smh

Or maybe Oregon beats USC, and loses at UW the following week.

I don't trust the committee to not put USC ahead of us.

Go Bearcats and Tigers/Volunteers!

I think Oregon and USC just flip flop then and are still above Miami.

I said this earlier in the week. No real wrong answer. If Oregon wins Saturday, USC is out and is one less team to contend with. If they lose, they probably fall below us, but USC probably jumps us. No real win. Then the last week of the season, Oregon plays at UDub and SC plays UCLA. The absolute dream scenario is they both go 1-1 the next 2 weeks. But whoever wins the game Saturday, we’ll be rooting for them to lose on the last weekend of the year. Kind of a wait and see with this one. I would think Oregon probably has more of a chance of losing in Seattle than SC does against UCLA, so let’s hope Oregon wins on Saturday and then loses the next week to Washington. In that scenario we’d eat up 1 spot. BYU losing to either Cincy or Texas Tech is another. Just need to find 1 more somewhere. I keep coming back to I don’t think we get into this thing unless Bama or OU lose, at least. I think if they both go 2-0 to end the season, we have very few outs.

Also FWIW, our odds didn’t budge an inch.

+300 on DK to make the playoff this morning, and the same number right now. So yeah we moved up 2 spots but that was clearly expected by the books and nothing that happened tonight changed our outlook. Still need help.

+220 on FanDuel. Think it was also around +300 or +340 but honestly haven’t checked in a day or two.
