MEGA There’s Still Hope for the ACCCG/CFB Playoffs Mega Merge Thread

If they actually care about things they say should be the criteria when comparing teams with similar standings (they don’t), we literally have H2H against ND and common opponent W/L advantage over Bama and USC. There’s nothing circular. If we’re in a discussion against those 3 the only reasoning for us being below any of the 3 would be vibes and conference affiliation.

Yeah, the ACC social media is acting like they like us now. What is this stuff?

Should've told the SMU refs, that **** was outrageous
It seems their campaign may have started after we complained about the SMU refs? Not sure, but they’ve now ****ed off FSU, and GT, who are all wondering why the ACC is only campaigning for us, and ND, who is ****ed that they are campaigning at the expense of them. It’s weird but hilarious.

I can get with the reasoning arguments for us, but not the social media pressure angle. Even if the committee cared about that, they know they’d get equal or more pressure if they bump us up ahead of some of these other teams. It’ll just be coming from somewhere else after that.

Another repost.

A head to head to win should ALWAYS carry more weight than any other metric. Any attempt to justify putting Notre Dame ahead of us SHOULD BE shot down immediately with "Miami beat Notre Dame". Full stop.

"They're a different team now."

Doesn't matter. Miami beat Notre Dame.

"If the game had been played on a neutral field or in South Bend.."

Doesn't matter. Miami beat Notre Dame.

"If they played today, the results would be different."

Doesn't matter. Miami beat Notre Dame.

If beating ND does not hold weight, then what was the point of playing them??

This makes no sense.

Why would I compare losses to a team we beat? The only point of "comparing losses" is to predict which team is better when there's no head-to-head matchup. In this case, we played ND. The only relevant question is: who won?

How about instead of comparing losses . . . we look at wins? Utah has beaten basically no one. Vanderbilt has actually beaten no one. ND has also beaten . . . no one.

The point is: you cannot justify putting in a 2-loss ND ahead of us. We beat them.
ND's best win is #15 USC at home, which is comparable to ours. Stop cherry-picking.

Now show me the other 2 loss non conference champion teams ahead of us and their SOR and and ranked wins.

You act like its a forgone conclusion. It's not so STFU and let's see what happens.
Sheesh you're a sensitive little snowflake huh? Lol

It could change by season's end, no doubt. But to your question...OU, Bama are both 2 loss nonchampions with better wins. BYU is a nonchampion with an equally good win and 1 loss. We have to pass more than just ND.

Why does duke have to lose again ? Also the scenarios on CBS say they have to lose to wake.

Can they also lose to UNC and beat wake? Or is the reason they have to lose to wake depending on tiebreakers?

Yep, look at this bum!!... by the way, im sure we'd all be fine if ND left the ACC.

Miami not only beat ND head to head but it appears so far (still got Cuse, Stanford and Pitt) but so far hasn’t Miami been more impressive vs common opponents?
