MEGA There’s Still Hope for the ACCCG/CFB Playoffs Mega Merge Thread

Has a team who lost head to head ever finished in front of the team they lost to with the same record?

You can’t because it hasn’t happened. The writing is on the wall that miami is about to get hosed. Committee is doing unprecedented things and saying a team that lost a head to head match in their eyes is a better team than the team they lost to even with the same record. The only way this happens is with agendas and bias. Between bama common opponent and Notre Dame head to head loss the committe isn’t paying attention to any of the key components it is supposed to take into consideration. Bad losses are only bad if you are Miami.
someone pulled data from the last two years and if this holds it would be the only time it's happened out of 13 instances of H2H/same record in CFP final rankings

the only thing I can remember off the top of my head was very similar and it was TCU/Baylor in 2014

they committee ended up doing the right thing and putting the h2h winner over the loser at the very end of the season

With Eric Morris heading to OkSt, can the committee let OkSt in vs UNT? Likely a similar result with whomever they face.

one good thing that can't be disputed

is that miami in will be ratings

Miami @ UGA (beck return to Athens)

Miami @ Oregon (Mario return to Eugene)

Miami @ ND (rematch of the issue that has the entire CFB world talking right now)

I want Ole Miss or Oklahoma I know we can beat them.

Alex Donno brought up a good point today. Isn't ND directly costing the ACC money with this BS? The ACC allows them to bottom feed against our conference and get into the playoffs. But if a team beats them head to head, they will still get left out of the playoffs at the expense of an ACC team and take home all the money. This is an absolute **** deal for the ACC

That’s what the ACC gets for being cucks. Cancel the ACC ND partnership ASAP. Let them figure out their schedule independently and see where that gets them.

Would love to see what ND does without the ACC

SEC or Big X certainly don't need there ***

I just want chaos!!!!

Texas over A&M
GT over UGA
Bama vs UGA in the seccg thus one has 3 losses and is left out!!! Burn it down bad looking.

Duke wins ACCcg but two G5 in. Burn it down. Ha

Lane leaves Ole Miss and 11-1 ole Miss is left out.

11-2 Texas tech is left out after an OT loss to 12-1 BYU

Etc etc etc
You had me in agreement until the last two!!!

I want
Oregon OU and bama losing to start

By the way, as of now, SEC has 5 teams in
A&M
UGA
Ole Miss
OU
Bama

I think there's no way they get 5 teams in, even if that means dropping the SECCG loser out. So as long as we take care of business, we should be good.
Why do you say that?
A&M and UGA are guaranteed
If
Ole Miss OU and bama win they are IN 100%

I’m not sure what you think would change that

The committee evaluates SEC/B1G teams differently than everyone else. They look at wins, not losses. The eye test also doesn’t matter for them. Everyone else gets dinged hard for their losses, and the eye test, especially late season, counts for a lot.

Remember last year when Bama laid a late season egg at Oklahoma for their 3rd loss and people were still lobbying for them to get in? It’s because they had some “good” wins during the year so the losses didn’t matter. Because the conference is seen as a “gauntlet”, pretty much every loss is forgiven.

That’s why Texas and/or Michigan are real threats to get in if they pull upsets this weekend.
Michigan is a two loss team and if they beat Ohio state
Watch what happens

Do we have a running list of the "vibes" and "feels" metrics that the committee uses? I would love for them to nail down what exactly each of these is by definition:

"A Good Win"
"A Bad Loss"
"A Good Loss"
"A Bad Win"
"Quality Win"
"Resume"
"Game Control"
"Dominant Performance"
"Competitive Loss"
"Style Points"
"Complete Team"
"Game Flow"
"Parameters for Clustering"
"The Eye Test"
...

Feel free to add more.

There is no chance I'm searching through 2,840 posts, so....

Who do we root for this weekend to get into the ACC Championship game? I think I get the at large breakdown.
