The Work 7-13

Funny, last year all I read was people crying how we missed 2 of 3 stud RBs and a DT. This year we have, at moment, 4 count them four, top frigging RBs and again it is all about who we DON'T have. 2016 is unbelievable at the moment and 2015 is getting better and better. Every one blamed staff for the university school crap but wonder of wonder, two studs leave there and go to STA and bang now they are Canes. There is a lot going on down here that is not the staff's fault. Everything considered, recruiting has been strong. On the field results are a different matter. That is their blame to take.

Last year there was

WR: Lane, Dixon and Rudolph

ATH: T. Harris

RB: Cook, Powell and Michel

DT: Valentine and Clark

DB: JC Jackson

None of them went to University School. Some of these kids were kids that we missed on, for whatever reason...it doesn't matter (what reason) because those reasons will ALWAYS be a factor in recruiting. No one is saying bring in ALL of those kids, we're just saying we want MORE of those kids. The 2014 class left something to be desired. It had some great players but we needed more.

We're in 2015. We need the following: 3 LB, 2 DT and 4 DBs. No one is denying the 2016 class but that is what it should ALWAYS be. That is what we expect and that is what we need.

As for 2015, that is excellent that we have 4 elite RBs but none of them can play on the 2014 team. In addition (and more important), there are other positions besides RB. So we need studs at EVERY position and not just RB.

Do you get it?

That's a virtual who's who of bad recruiting and evaluation. Really drives home the point of how we're getting sodomized in our own backyard.

Peter, I heard Langham is like a class short and he (like Gray) is furiously trying to make it up online.

Is this true?

Jimmy Johnson didn't put up better #s. Maybe Schnelly did, I don't have the stats. The only Miami coach who has ever met your expectations is Randy Shannon, and that class ended up being the biggest bunch of underachievers ever to play here. Yes it would be awesome if we got all those kids, but south Florida as a community does not support Miami in a way that will equal your expectations.

Notice how we have 11 Dade/Broward guys in 2002/2003, and not in 2000/2001? Because this community does not support the team. Amari Cooper was going to commit but his mom told him to wait. It wasn't 10 minutes after Keith Bryant committed that he said his mom was pushing FSU. Denver Kirkland and Matt Thomas did everything they could to **** on the home team.

Why don't you do me a favor and show me these awesome classes of south Florida studs that Jimmy Johnson assembled? His classes looked a lot like the ones we have now, a good deal of Miami/Broward kids, but never more than 10 in a class.

Your case would be stronger if you picked a different time period. Coker had stellar classes as did Shannon (at least his first full year).

Someone please look up a class from our past as an example of what a Miami class should look like. All this ****ing and moaning but someone show me what it looks like when it's done in real life.

What does the great Jimmy Johnson have to do with Fat Al missing on all those guys that Thread Killa listed?

JJ was probably the greatest coach Miami has ever had. Surely he would have recruited up to everyone's standards. He didn't miss on a bunch of guys, did he?

Is our expectation that Golden outrecruit every single coach this program has ever had in the face of all of the crap of the last few years?

Jimmy Johnson won. Howard won. Al Golden hasn't won anything.

It's 2014, not 1983, not 1987. What worked for Howard and Jimmy 25+ years ago isn't going to work for Golden now.

Golden has yet to show he can out coach other teams with comparable or better talent on a consistent basis. That means he needs as much talent that he can get.

Are Coker and Shannon on trial here, or is Golden?

The point here is that South Florida has no loyalty, no sense of hometown pride. Golden is expected to lock down a town to historical proportions despite the town being overrun with street agents and hangers on that non-stop **** on the program and steer the kids everywhere else.

South Florida is ambivalent on UM because of the product that Al puts on the field. Would you be dying to have your son play on that defense if you didn't attend UM? It's the coach's job to get the community excited about his program.

South Florida was ambivalent long before there was a product to put on the field. The point is the only support south Florida offers is after Miami wins big, which requires Miami to win big before support is offered.

It is the coach's job to get the community excited, but not even the greatest UM coaches of all time could sufficiently excite the community to your standards. And when the community did recruit the amount of kids you think we should get, we didn't win a **** thing.

So, in the end, it's just more *****ing to *****. Golden signs 12 kids from Dade and Broward, good players, guys that could go anywhere, and it's not good enough because a few others went elsewhere. Nevermind that no coach at UM has ever hit the % required to satisfy the fans because south Florida never supports the program, they just jump on the bandwagon after the championship parade.
