The Work 10-9

Meanwhile the old time posters with real connections to BOT members are saying Golden is done. He's not surviving until next year. He's already lost the team, more losses are coming, the media is piling on, banners are flying, nobody is going to be in the stands, he's finished.

Golden can go **** himself. He wasted two years defending his butt buddy and now when his *** is on the line he wants to fire that ******.

If you support Golden or think he deserves another year, **** you too. You're part of the problem. He wasted all this ******* talent to defend his friend, and when his own job is on the line, only then is he ready to make a move. He's put the program and the kids that committed to him last on his list of priorities, behind his scheme, behind his friendship and behind his ego. **** him.

This administration is an absolute disgrace. No school that's even remotely serious about football would allow this to happen.

D'Onofrio is completely incompetent, but he is not the problem. This is Al Golden's defense and these are Al Golden's special teams, both of which are in the worst state this program has seen in the past quarter century. This is Year 4. He has had ample time to turn things around and has only managed to make matters worse.

What benefit would there possibly be to bring back a coach who isn't respected whatsoever by former players/recruits/media/fans and is now completely despised, both for sinking our beloved program further into irrelevance and spewing infuriating nonsense about playing too many night games? Opposing coaches will have more success negatively recruiting against us by just pointing out that Golden is still here than they ever did bringing up the cloud.

The defense ranked 120th in total defense in 2012 and 96th in total defense in 2013. This defense -- not just D'Onofrio, THIS defense -- should have been long gone before this season ever started. Not only does this administration clearly not give any f**** about the well-being of the program, but it seems like they're actively trying to make it the embarrassment that it has become.

Two more losses to 7-5. They fire the black guy in year 4 for 7-5 but the white guy gets a pass.

The ENTIRE athletic department needs to be canned. School makes me sick.

Is he also gonna can Coley? His offense is statistically WORSE than the putrid D! How bout get a real coach and stop putting lipstick on a pig.

Coker 2.0 after 2005 season. Head Coach clean house with assistants, gets the same results next year and then will be let go.

I'm confused though. If Golden doesn't sit on defensive meetings and game plans cause he has full trust in Dorito, how is there a strain in their relationship? Maybe Pete is hearing from the pro Golden side? Seems like there may be two camps, pro golden/anti dorito and anti golden.

It seems the consensus is that we'll need three more losses, which is absolutely astonishing. Losing 5-6 games with this cakewalk of a schedule is equivalent to UF going 4-8 just last season because our conference is utter s***.

But we're going to get humiliated once again by FSU and will surely lose on the road at Virginia Tech. That's five losses right there and all we'd need is one more.

Id give Golden a year if it meant canning D'onofrio.

But I thought Golden said he was going to be more "hands on" with the defense this year.

If that's the case, we shouldn't need to worry about shytcanning D'onofrio, because Golden's got his hands all over it fixing the problem, right?

LULZ at any of the dumbasses that think he should get more leash for firing the DCoordinator.

It's his defense. Beyond horrific player development and poor execution, it's always been about fit here. His defense does not fit and don't try to convince me that he's going to completely revamp it. He's not going to wake up one day and suddenly alter a philosophy that's been embedded in him his entire coaching career. Sorry to all you hastag loving dopes in your Al Golden tie shirts.

His mentality is not fit for this institution.

He blamed a pathetic effort against GTech on night games. His position coach, Hurlie Brown, called winning 9 games last season a great accomplishment in the offseason.

He is a loser. And if you think it's a good idea to keep him around, you're a loser and a ******.

So the relationship is strained, everyone hates him but Al Bronze goes out of his way to constantly defend Dorito and the defense, makes sense.

"**Sources tell CanesInSight that at this point it is nearly impossible to envision a scenario where D’Onofrio is back next season. Golden and D’Onofrio have not been on the same page this season and their relationship has become strained. Many believe that Golden has become frustrated at D’Onofrio’s ability to run the defense and beyond that he is not a guy who most in the building like to work with on a daily basis."

Pretty sure Pete has hasn't studied military deception. "Sources" can always be feeding information that has a grain of truth (drawing you in) and making you blind to other evidence to the contrary...They make you want to believe it. Look at the wording: "not on the same page," "strained," and "frustrated," Wow, terms just brimming with red hot anger (LOL). Golden's constant deflection of blaming the defense when he is stressed in after game pressers is better intelligence. Golden's first priority before a presser is accumulating data favorable to the defense and finding other areas to blame, making him sound absolutely tone deaf and idiotic. He is covering and covering for Dorito, for reasons I would probably NOT want to know intimately, expending what little intellectual capacity he has left in an attempt to save the status quo. Just look how quickly many in this thread are now focusing on Dorito leaving with Golden getting another year...

Read about pre-D-Day Allied operations such as Fortitude, which fed the Germans what they wanted to believe on the site of the Allied landings; heck, many in the German intelligence branch fell for pictures of inflatible tanks where they wanted to see them, disregarding real intelligence on real tanks.

Don't fall for Golden's inflatible tanks inflatable-tank-thumb.jpg

Yeah, for someone so angry with the defensive performance and the coordinator responsible for it, he trips over himself to defend it at every turn.

He blamed the offense for the GT game. He actually blamed the side of the ball that couldn't get on the field cause the defense couldn't make a stop. I question the info Pete was given.

It's too late and way too convenient for *** to fire dorito now. Golden has to go.... Plain and simple. It's Goldens defense. He blames the players and execution... He has lost the team.
