The Work 10-11

Fine either way with Grimes. If the staff thinks we need him cool, but if they think we're ok and want to send a message that's cool too. I don't think there are any hard and fast rules about these things, it's the kind of decision we pay Richt to make.

What's with the love affair of Grimes on this board?

The kid's knee is ****ed up & we got 3 studs coming in for 2018.

We don't even use all our WR's right now, so you think we're just going take Grimes on a bum knee & he's going to start over everybody else?

The last piece regarding Grimes is mind numbingly dumb. Complete ineptitude on Richt's part if true.

You don't turn down elite talent at a skill position. Unbelievable.

It's a marathon, not a sprint.

He's playing the long game - he's clearly trying to dismantle the culture in SoFl among the elite players that a Miami offer is a given, rather than an honour. If we're happy to take these kids back when they've flopped at other programmes because they're highly rated then there's nothing to dissuade the next batch from doing exactly the same.

That part about grimes is just dumb, greg Olsen chose Notre Dame over Miami only to transfer here less than a year later..... grimes is an elite talent and would be the second most talented receiver on the roster if he transferred in...

You're my guy, but I bet I can name more transfers here that didn't pan out than you can that did. It works both ways.

And I don't like the Olsen or Gary examples bc they weren't local prospects. it's a lil different when you're spurned by someone in your own backyard. I don't blame the staff. Grimes is a true 5 Star talent. Easily the best WR in last year's class (if healthy). But he had his chance to put on for the city. We stacking chips without him.

I don't blame Richt for not taking Grimes. Why should he? Miami will have Richards, Harley, Thomas, Cager, Langham, Mullins, and Njoku with the additions of Pope, Wiggins, and Hightower at the position group next year. Also, Brevin Jordan and Mallory can flex outside at TEs. I may be in the minority on this, but I like the idea of Richt telling players who are thinking about transferring to Miami who are from South Florida to get lost. Miami is in the business of reeling in top 5 and top 10 classes from now on. We are the only school that have commits shutting down recruitments with tweets because they are trying to solidify their position in the class. Miami is the "it" school now in College Football. We are finally in the position to recruit whomever we want and tell the others to go someplace else.

I don't care for Grimes either way.

Here's what does get me excited: Trayone Gray lowering his shoulder into the end zone and subsequently sweeping the nagging mental demon on his shoulder. I'm very, very excited to see him play.

I get that you guys want to defend the staff, but Grimes is an elite talent period. What happened to “stacking chips”? That’s all that most of this board preaches about, but now we should turn down elite talent because they “missed their chance”? I’m sorry, but it’s total nonsense.

We stacking chips with Pope, Wiggins, and Hightower, mane. #pringles

I'm not trying to be mean bc I genuinely love all Canes, but even with the injuries, Knowles has no business seeing the field. it hsouldn't even be a consideration.

At all, he shouldn’t see the field. He almost cost us the game with his play in the 4th quarter

I’d start Malek and Delaney or Bandy at CB and JJ and Mike Jack @ Safety. Knowles looked lost on every play vs FSU

All are great talents as well, but the very concept of stacking chips implies you add as much as you can possibly get, no? I guess I’ll stop harping about it, but it really makes no sense to me

Exactly, stack chips. He would immediately be the most talented big receiver

Because many on this board are fascinated by 5 star kids even we are loaded at this position between who we have and who is committed to us. If it was a position of dire need I could understand bending the rule but a WR? No. I love it that Richt is sticking to his position.

What happened to stacking chips?

Mark Pope, Daquris Wiggins & Brian Hightower, after Mike Harley, Jeff Thomas & Evidence Njoku.

Defending the staff? What do they need to be bashed for? Because yall think Grimes is Randy Moss or some ****?

That's just bogus, we don't need him, we're not talent void at WR & everybody keeps acting like the kid is a guaranteed to be a star, when all he's done thus far is rehab his knee that can't get healthy.

There's a **** ton of WR's available for Miami, this ain't the Folden era no more, we don't need to beg kids to come play for us.

Grimes was an elite talent. Now hes curled up in his moms lap eating cheetoes and looking for attention. If he was smart hed be doubling up on classes while hes injured.

Stack another one on that bih

Bring Grimes in and put a redshirt on him. Let the knee heal up 100% and bring him out of the kennel in 2019. That's how you stack chips. #ChessNotCheckers
