The Turning Point

I assure you I'm every bit that dumb and then some.

Are you under the impression I'm saying Foote actually had anything to do with football? All I did was say they happened under Foote's tenure with his employees and players.
Again, please stop...It was Leonard Miller who literally hired Butch in 95...Foote had NOTHING to do with the hiring process at all. He NEVER gave af about UM sports EVER....When Mr. Miller passed (2001)...the torch was handed to his son Stuart Miller (CEO of Lennar Corp) and still close to Butch. The ONLY people who ever were in Butch's corner were Leonard & Stu Miller, Paul DiMare, and Richard Fain to a lesser extent. That's 100% fact. @TheOriginalCane ...will tell you everything I said is unquestionable.

I Did That Reaction GIF by New York Institute of Technology (NYIT)
Why should I pat myself on the back when I was literally there. Just another case of CIS posters who don't know what they're talking about...nothing new.

Smh at everybody arguing this point.

"Turning the corner" can only be figured out retroactively. When the season is over, you look back at a certain point and from that point on it was a different team.

Doesn't matter if you lost to Bama by 1, 100, or lost to MTSU. That doesn't define "turning the corner".

We could beat UNC this week and nobody could say we turned the corner. What if we lost every game after?

You guys are arguing over something that can only be proven at the end of the season.

Beating UCLA in 98, to beating UNC this Saturday, draws absolutely no comparison whatsoever. That 98 UCLA team would wax both UNC and UM this yr. Two completely different scenarios.
At that point butch had built his own roster and the team just needed to learn how to win. this roster is not Mario’s

Yea, we want the microwavable version of a turn around but 5 games in to a tenure of what is clearly a rebuild is too soon to be discussing turning a corner. Stinks but it's going to take time.

And I was hoping this year was the 10-2 type year but I now know that was foolish.
The system is set up to microwave it in '22.
Giant, bloated, paid up staff in a 'recruiting hotbed'
Coastal sucks (zero ranked teams heading into the week)
MTSU, BCU and So Miss were cupcake chit games to schedule (only Clemson is ranked right now on entire schedule)
Transfer Portal
Free year after transfer
Grad transfer rule
COVID extra year
4 game redshirt rule
NIL so buy the guy you really want like a free agent with no salary cap (think 49ers in '94, Cowboys in '95)
Blue Chip Ratio already above 50%

How hard could it really be to beat MTSU in '22 if you're Wario

Was Foote president then?

Had NOTHING to do with Butch getting hired
Had NOTHING to do with Butch hiring his staff..
Had NOTHING to do with ANYTHING Sports related...
Leonard Miller was more powerful than Foote...please stop...
I never said he did.

Why??? You don’t have to reply with insults and things like that. We get what you mean by turning the corner as a program by beating everyone we’re supposed to and then the Clemson class. He’s simply saying if we beat UNC, after losing to MTSU, then hopefully the worst is behind us.

You can’t see that deep down he still thinks Butch should have been hired here?

There is no Edgerrin James on offense or Dan Morgan on defense in 2022
James had the single greatest offensive performance in Miami history. I’m glad I was there in the student section cheering it on.

Go Canes.

Only a complete Dumb *** would bring Tad Foote's name into a conversation about UM Athletics, when he never had anything to do with them. He gets absolutely NO credit from anyone, for any success involving UM Sports...None...
Yet success in football, baseball, and the rebirth of basketball all took place during his tenure.

I personally think McGahees in 2002 vs VT was even better...should've been 7 TDs...and what Stephen McGuire did to FSU in 90 was no slouch either...

Wrong...UMs baseball program was already humming before Foote arrived in 1980...and he had NOTHING to do with Sabans last recruiting class in 79...that truthfully started the Dynasty....

“Show me some fight and that you were embarrassed about last week and that you care and start playing for each other.”

THIS 100%

They need to prove that it matters. This is a real moment for growth for both students and staff. Gotta live in and for the moment.

technicality, she had done nothing for the program during the few months she was there. when i mean nothing, it includes the negative/bad things she did.
But SHE was the President after Foote left in June of 2001...Lol at Foote getting ANY credit for ANYTHING sports related during his tenure. Howard hated him...JJ hated him...Erickson hated him and Butch couldn't stand him.

yes and no. it was good enough throughout the game to move the ball (gattis called a good enough game)(evidenced by domination in the stats), except when we got to the redzone, then it was trash maybe even worse than trash
Yes and no my ***....Not buying it
