The Turn-Around Has Begun....

Nice post. My biggest worry about going forward is our recruiting just haven't got it done for so many years. Gotta find a way to keep the South Florida kids at home. Enos took too long to adjust that hurt us big time against bad teams and the def coach should probably be fired in my opinion. I'd give him till the end of season to get better though. Why is it that fans could see we should have been in the gun but coaches making a million bucks a year couldn't?

We need top 10 recruiting classes in '20 and '21....The '19 class had too many holes...
Of course, ace-ing the portal would help...

No dice for me. Why can we do it now but not then? Is it because manny and his staff botched personnel deployment early and didn’t have the right guys? Is it because we now have our best players on the field in defense? Or is it because we now run our offense out of the gun and leave backs in to chip and block? Whose job is it to get the kids prepared to play? How about to identify the right personnel groupings and deployments to be successful? That is all coaching. Full stop
I agree with playing out of the gun. The OL has evolved and Campbell won the job out of camp. That happens to every team in America. Bama just moved ****erson to center mid season. Do they suck to?
With all that being said are you denying we win most of those games if we had a kicker who could make an Xp or a kick under 30 yards? Because you’d be very wrong.

This reminds me of when Al Golden won 3 straight games to improve to 6-3 in 2014 to improve to 6-3, and everybody was slurping him.

Except that we routed those 3 (weak) opponents. IIRC, our closest game in that span was 21 points. I’m sure we didn’t get outgained in that span like we have in the current 3 game span.
Right on queue...our sourpuss arrives.

There’s also something called development. We’ve had massive development in the OL and WR rooms. There was no scheming this OL good at the beginning. They had to take lumps and develop. They were left with an OL in turmoil

Louisville is not a solid team. They are near the Coastal average or slight better. But if we played them earlier in the season, this would be a L. Remember how we played CMU and GT?

There honestly isn’t a “solid” team in the ACC except for Clemson.

We really haven’t played a “solid” team since UF. And UF played their worst game of the year in that game.

It takes time to turn around a sinking ship...

Fans believe in their team...

Haters don't.... Period.

  • 2018: Ending of 7-6 -- MR resigns
  • 2018: Lost 7 blue chip recruits
  • Dec 2018: Diaz hired
  • Jan 2019: New Assistant Coaches Hired -- Enos
  • Feb 2019: New Offensive system installed
  • Aug 2019: 8 months of a total rebuild started
  • Oct 2019: 8 games within 1-2 plays of winning
  • Nov 2019: All 3 phases of the team now clicking...
This is how turn-arounds work....

GO CANES!
GO COACH DIAZ & ENOS!
*** YOU HATERS!
If you turn a sinking ship around it's still a sinking ship, it's just facing a different direction as it sinks.

The eye test yesterday said we are now a complete football team.. we keep that up we have shot year in and year out

We flopped the eye test for each of the first 7 FBS games this year. (Every FBS game up to and including Pitt). That’s the first year I can remember that happening. Even the UVA and Pitt wins were brutal to watch, and we probably should have lost both of those games.

The last 2 games against FSU and Louisville have been mediocre, nothing great.

Low standards are low.

To be honest, I thought our standards were low enough when we were celebrating the 2017 season, even after we lost the last 3 games in embarrassing fashion. (With one of those losses being to a previously 4-7 team.)

Celebrating this 3 game winning streak is the lowest I can remember this website ever going.

Losing to GT and UNC was inexcusable. The criticism was warranted. And there are still issues. They left a lot of points on the field against FSU and the defense did not play well yesterday.

The offense was a total rebuild you idiots. If you cant see that you are inept.

It took three embarrassing losses for the coaches to pull their heads out of their asses.

The changes that have been made that made to get the last three wins were things we were calling for in the OFF-SEASON.

Start Scaife at tackle.

Give Zion lots of help.

Get the ball out of Jarren’s hand quickly.

Dial back the late safety blitzes.

The fans saw what the coaches didn’t. That is still concerning.

There is still a lot of improvement to be had for the coordinators. Still, they could have been stubborn and sunk us with a truly humiliating season.

Got to give them credit for that but they still have much to prove and are not out of the woods yet.

If we played like this on both sides if the ball since game one we'd be undefeated
