The SEC is not effing around with LSU

I would guess Ole Miss goes 8-4 at best this year. There will be an immediate dropoff.

He has an innate ability to take a certain group of players and squeeze the very very best out of them. He will be an elite coach with LSU's brand. He seems stubborn to your casual fan, but he is a completely different coach than when he was at USC.

I think being humbled with the FAU job made him turn the corner as a head coach.

He definitely did good work at Ole Miss. I know the "SEC!" crowd will disagree, but last year's end result is a little misleading. Only ranked wins in the regular season were vs LSU at home & Oklahoma. Beat Tulane & a banged up/overrated UGA in the CFP to make the semis, & I truly feel we should have won that game by at least 2TDs.

He'll win some games at LSU, but I'd take Mario over Lane 100 out of 100 times.
 
SEC window dressing to make it look like they are castigating a deeply unpopular (to anyone that’s not an LSU fan) program.

They have zero intention of punishing or somehow removing LSU from the SEC. Unless LSU was destroying the recruiting and the future of teams like Alabama and Georgia, they’re not going to do ****. Even then, they might try to equalize things, not punish LSU.

LSU is the SEC backstop if Alabama and Georgia take a step back. It’s one of their bell cows.

I was listening to a Joel Klatt podcast (I know he can be a hater but I like the guy). He said it perfectly. He coached under Saban and Pete. I think he is trying to create a team with a little combination of the 2. Toughness, discipline, hard work, like Saban. Gameday theatrics, flash, and swagger like Pete. Celebrities at games, movie scenes every saturday. Hes making LSU talked about and cool again to the nation.

He will be gone to the NFL or to Bama or to wherever in 5 years, I expect him to win a ring. I love Mario and would have it no other way, but the Lane train in Miami would have been a fun time lmao

You do realize that while at Bama, Lane was having *** with so many co-eds that he used a fake name when he would go to the bars because he didn’t want it to get back to Saban. And this was before his divorce.

Our players were bad boys, and we enjoyed it. But having a smart coach who isn’t boozing in the bars and hitting on college girls is a substantial plus for the job of college football coach. Lane wears out his welcome everywhere he goes. There is a reason. He is a good coach, but he is a much bigger horse’s a*s.

That has nothing to do with what I said. He's without a doubt a scumbag but is a **** good football coach. I do agree Lane is much more about Lane than LSU, but the team clearly is embracing the villain role and delivering. They without a doubt have an us against the world, **** everyone, your either with us or against us attitude. There are similarities to the old Miami, but the thought of Lane makes our fans so worked up they can't see it.

Which actually adds credibility to my point lol.

I also don't think they will ever be as good as we were, just noticing similarities in the attitude of the team.

IDK man I wouldnt say NOTHING.

Obviously LSU got scared by the federal suit or they would have put those 2 on the roster for this weekend. This is the playbook from the Sorsby situation. TTech can push with its local judges all it wants to beat the NCAA, but then when it comes to a conference letting you into their title game? Or the CFB committee allowing you to play in the playoffs? That is where this analysis changes. I dont see these 2 suiting up for LSU now so that is something over nothing but I agree no way they kick LSU out of the conference, they simply want a federal judge to tell them they can and they can enforce their own rules to then show that to LSU and say try me. After this year the point is largely moot, LSU aint risking missing out on CFP to let two guys who couldnt hack it in the NFL on the squad.

This. SEC is just catering to their pearl-clutching base for the optics. In truth, the SEC doesn't give a **** so long as LSU keeps finishing in the top 10 in TV rankings, like they **** near always have for the last 20+ years.
 
Of all the possible outcomes to this whole mess, LSU and the SEC separating is the least likely and will never happen.

After his messy exit from Old Miss and now he’s mouthing off at LSU after the game re playing NFL players, he’s become a total embarrassment to the SEC. Kiffin is in his element with the current Wild West state of college football and he’ll just get worse. He’s the SEC's worst nightmare with his big mouth & lack of regard for any rules. No-one in the conference has any respect for him & want him & his clown show gone. You reap what you sow.
