The safety position

Bryce Fitzgerald is going to be a star
I hate comparing players to ones in the NFL. He will be a pro bowler.
He is always around the ball and seems like a natural out there. Needs to improve on his tackling. I'm not saying he can't tackle or is afraid of contact, that's not what I'm saying at all. I've noticed he always puts himself in position to make the tackle, but doesn't always bring the ball carrier down. He's a little weak in that area, but his ball skills are very good. This is still a far improvement from guys like Jaden Harris who was getting juked out of his pants every time the ball carrier was within his zip code and did absolutely nothing to impede the runner.
Definitely agree.
With you making this post... this it my NFL comp. Andrew Mukuba, eagles rookie and former Texas safety. Ballhawk, around the same size as undersized safeties, but elite ball skills. Both willing ranked, but will struggle against bigger banks and receivers.. mukuba had to work on his technique with his tracking. Bryce can do the same. Bryce will play a long time, IMO.

I for sure thought I would see a sizable difference. Not a knock on any of our guys but Scott was so ******* good I thought it would be a gap.
Only time we really saw some issues was when Scott and Thomas were both out. Had some really bad angles and poor tackling against VT

Thomas had a couple of bad plays early yesterday but the team is just different when he’s out there as far as physicality. Mario made the comment yesterday about “getting the CB back” in a week and I’m assuming he meant Scott

Could be OJ I suppose but sure felt like Scott to me

Reason I bring it up is that’s a championship defense

Another reason we need to upgrade the LB room.

I thought he was referring to Blay and OJ. He brought it up post game on the field and at press conf. The fact that we were dominant without those two.

Yeah that goes without saying

LBs actually played pretty well this year relatively speaking. It’s not a very talented room but we got some good production out of guys like Chase Smith. Was hoping Popo would take a step with Heatherman here. He’s solid but not what I hoped

Wiley looks elite potential but other than that we need a lot of help

You’re probably right. I think maybe I WANTED it to be Scott 🤣

As I was typing that out I’m like **** maybe it was OJ
