The QBs

I only saw Perry, Weldon, and Williams play.

I thought Perry looked best. Those balls to Brevin, Langham, and Cager were accurate and had touch. He also has decent wiggle when he runs.

Williams might be the future. But I didn’t think he looked better than Perry.

Weldon got minimal game time. Dude can run. But that ball he threw that should have been picked wasn’t close to being accurate.

Perry’s pick was accurate. He just didn’t see the off defender drop.
Interesting, I thought the throw to Langham was an absolute duck. The throw to Cager could have been better too, but at least it was safe.

The throw to Brevin for the diving TD was the best ball he threw tonight, followed by the TD throw to Cager (where Cager boxed out his guy).

I don't think he did enough to stand out from the crowd.

1) Williams - totally controlled. Looked like a vet. Built like a QB. Pass to Thomas was beautiful but he fell down.
2) Rosier - kills me to say it, but you need an experienced backup in case Williams goes down
3) Perry - seemed nervous. Decent touch, but also looked like he didn't have command of field like Williams
4) Weldon - seems like Richt pulled plug early. Prob not a good sign for him.
Of course williams had command he was playing with guys he is used to playing with in practice. Perry was playing with the 1s.

Richt straight up lied to us. Rosier looked the worst of the 4 QBs and that is after all the extra time he got with the 1s to build chemistry.
mallory saved Rodgers *** on that TD throw. That pass should of at worst been knocked down.

Kid did a **** of a job reaching over the DB to catch the ball.

Jarren looked fairly accurate, but my only worry with him, is that balls he threw, reminded me too much of how J12 threw the football...kind of soft. But its too small a sample size to come to any conclusions.

Rosier is still the starter.....for now. That INT by Perry was awful. Weldon will never play and Williams is certainly the future. The guy just looks the part but he’s not ready yet.

Roll Perry out for the first couple of series against Toledo. If he falters or busts, put in Rosier and ride the run game.

Lingard definitely needs more touches. Jeff Thomas is our best receiver and most dynamic punt returner since Lamar Miller. JT4 reminds me of Santana.

We someone who is willing to attach the middle of the field. Whenever we drop dimes in there, the offense becomes untouchable

This is gong to be a three week audition for the freshmen if we play good football against Toledo.

Imo nothing was decided tonight.

Yep.....not sure what can be gleaned from it. The oline was junk running the ball tonight . I wanna see us play well against toledo next week and give more PT to the qbs behind rosier if we can against a better opponent.

Fully agree, I WANT the next two games to be a mirror of today, maybe with Rosier playing even less. Lets see after FIU how they grade, at that point start for North Carolina the best QB for this year and the long term. Meaning that if say a freshman and Rosier are close then go with the freshman to build for the long term. Today was a start lets see the next two games with equal snap sharing!
Feagles on the other hand.....Time for Spicer.

Perry was inconsistent but I think he would be fine with more reps. I liked his energy and his first TD pass was dope. Didn’t really get to see enough of Cade but he has some nice zip on his ball and seems to run well. Williams is the future but likely not ready yet. I’m sure Rosier is still the starter (unfortunately) but if it was up to me I would roll with Perry for the immediate future until Williams is ready.

I don’t think CMR is going to start anyone over Rosier in any of the upcoming games, unfortunately.

Jarren threw the nicest balls. He has got to be the future, but I prefer rolling with Perry this year, Cade didn’t get enough reps. I am ok with a mistake or two if we roll with one of the other guys. Rosier will continue to start but has to have a short Leash.

Off topic, but You could see the electricity that lingard offers. Burns could end up being a bruiser.

In all honesty it was against Savannah St the WORST team in the MEAC, who will be moving down to Division 2 next year. So, can't really make any definitely statements one way or the other.

Also people need to keep in context, this was the first game ever for all 3 of the young QB's, literally none of them have ever thrown a pass in a real game before today.

But, what should happen is for practice week leading up until Toledo is Perry & Weldon should get more 1st team reps.

Rosier will start vs Tol, but if he struggles early on the road I would like to see Perry get in the game. I know Rosier had one of his best games vs Tol last year & heated up in the 2nd half, but it will be different on the road & we can't afford to get down or have a close game imo.

Fortunately for us both UNC & FSU are completely garbage this year (as they were last year), so if we were to transition to a new QB those games would be perfect for one of the young QB's to get in rhythm right as we get into ACC play.

I like what I saw from all 3, but again the opponent does matter & Savannah St is akin to a Juco squad.

I wanna see how Perry & Weldon handle a tough environment on the road next week (if they ever get in the game). Toldeo is a high-powered Offensive team that can throw the ball really well, so it would be advantageous for us to put them away early & get our young QB's some work.

I think Perry should get the first half next week. I don’t know how you keep Lo off the field. I don’t know how you let Knowles on the field. Nesta earned himself a role tonight.
