The QBs

In all honesty it was against Savannah St the WORST team in the MEAC, who will be moving down to Division 2 next year. So, can't really make any definitely statements one way or the other.

Also people need to keep in context, this was the first game ever for all 3 of the young QB's, literally none of them have ever thrown a pass in a real game before today.

But, what should happen is for practice week leading up until Toledo is Perry & Weldon should get more 1st team reps.

Rosier will start vs Tol, but if he struggles early on the road I would like to see Perry get in the game. I know Rosier had one of his best games vs Tol last year & heated up in the 2nd half, but it will be different on the road & we can't afford to get down or have a close game imo.

Fortunately for us both UNC & FSU are completely garbage this year (as they were last year), so if we were to transition to a new QB those games would be perfect for one of the young QB's to get in rhythm right as we get into ACC play.

I like what I saw from all 3, but again the opponent does matter & Savannah St is akin to a Juco squad.

I wanna see how Perry & Weldon handle a tough environment on the road next week (if they ever get in the game). Toldeo is a high-powered Offensive team that can throw the ball really well, so it would be advantageous for us to put them away early & get our young QB's some work.
Dont think weldon getting any reps with the 1s. Perry will probably get some. Richt gave perry a extensive look.

The thing is, if Rosier starts the Toledo game he’ll probably play the entire game because this OL is so bad that the game will probably be close.

SSU had waived the white flag in the third quarter , they laid down most of the second half

Rozier should start the next game.

The two most disastrous throws were from Perry (triple coverage) and Weldon. Williams looked good, but he should have, against a worn out team.

My ranking would be

Rosier
Williams
Perry
Weldon
Id have 12
5 or 17
With jdub surging

I don’t think CMR is going to start anyone over Rosier in any of the upcoming games, unfortunately.
I concur... however, if MR gets rattled by a good defense he may have no choice but to yield to the young'uns.

I agree with that, but Perry needs more than just one series of 1st team reps in practice this week.

They should be split 50/50 with Rosier & Perry.

Rosier had a terrible start. He did recover and played the way I expected him to. However slow starts are the norm with him no matter who we play. We need to get on cats and get on them early. Rosier is a laid back dude and it shows at the start of games. That is not going to cut it, especially when you go up to VT for what surely will be a night game.

Perry looks to be the heir apparent if a change is made this year. Moves well in the pocket, keeps his eyes down field, throws a nice ball and allows his guys to make a play. Outside of the interception I don't remember one pass that he did not give his guy a good chance to catch and make a play. Not sure what happened on that sack. He either straight up feel down or ND tripped him. That was kind of ugly. Other than that loved what I saw. Unfortunately one of the things that Richt has repeatedly said is Perry has trouble recognizing zone and throwing into it. He did that again on the INT and that was not even a well disguised zone. That could be a huge problem against VT. Give him some game time and some film for the coaches to continue to help him with that weakness.

Weldon can run but we saw nothing that shows he is better then Perry.

Williams right off the bat reminds me of Taj Boyd. Big guy, big arm. Very good pocket presence. This guy in the run game would be huge. Just like Boyd he can easily pick up short yardage and keep drives going. But you can see decision making will need to get better. I would like to see that play he threw in the endzone to Njoku again. Could have sworn I saw someone streaking over the middle wide open. If so, got to make that throw instead of settling for a jump ball.

I tell you what though guys, you got to think that between Perry or Williams we have the stud QB we have longed for a long time. It is on Richt to develop one of these guys to be the best QB since Dorsey.

I like Perry. I didn’t catch much of the end of the game. The sample size on Cade was small, so would like to see him play more against Toledo, assuming we’re in the position to allow that to happen.

I wanted to see more of Cade Weldon...he looked poised and had the best zip on the ball of any of them....kid throws darts. Perry seemed unsure and Williams was in to have us run the ball. I'd start Cade over any of the other backups.

Jarren Williams looks the part. Seems like he has all the intangibles of a winning QB. Weldon reads the RPO well. Kosi is an athlete with a good arm. Rosier is garbage.

Same...dont count on it,,,toldeo on the road is like app st all over gonna give us a good game

I wouldn't be surprised if Weldon gets the Lions share of the next blow out like Perry did tonight.
