The Ole Miss Thread

All 22 from uga guy

Good breakdown.

Stopping their offense will be by far the biggest challenge we’ve faced this year.

This game is really going to come down to our offense. Ole Miss isn’t going to run three offensive drives the entire second half like Ohio State did.

The only way that happens is if our offense forces it to happen by staying on the field.

Butch as a DC and coach was great at disguising looks, having several people up at the line and then dropping a few at the snap

Thats how I'd play this and once those lanes are blocked, Chambliss puls it and the broken play starts

Its more important we contain the QB and not let the WRs run open in hero ball

There are dozens of plays where OM stonewalled UGA, and that's why we're not playing the Dawgs. You can't just win one rep on DL- maybe that clip was the play the DB got caught flat-footed, maybe it happened to be a great call, etc. In order to beat down that variance, the rush has to be a relentless assault, which UGA was not able to bring.

I've only watched him 3-4 games. Can you compare his game to:

D'eriq King
Marcel Reed
Tommy Castellanos (ha)
Jaxson Dart

He looks like he throws the ball better than Reed.
He’s literally Marcel Reed with great footwork. Which is a great player. He has the same flaws. He doesn’t actually get the ball out quick unless it’s the play call. He doesn’t want to check down unless pressured into it. Just don’t blitz him. Let him self destruct

I started watching their games yesterday, and let me tell you… they sure as **** call a ton of quick passes. DBs better tackle as well as they have all season.

I wasn’t surprised by almost anything TAMU did. ****, I can tell you when they ran that same play Fitz picked off earlier in the year (South Carolina on a critical 3rd down). I watched every snap of their season and they mostly stuck with what they had previously done, though they ran Reed less than I thought they would. Should we expect to be surprised by something new from Ole Miss? Should we expect Trinidad to run a bit more than TAMU tried with Reed?

Those are my favorite types of opinions to predict the outcome of a football game. Forget the match ups. Forget the actual plays on the field. Some random intangible and totally subjective thing is the ticket to win. Reminds me of Notre Dame fans talking about their DL who ‘really are very sound and gritty.’ Man, ha.

The funny part is what we just beat, T AM, OSU, etc. We beat SEC during the regular season. And finally, the SEC record in the bowl games against anyone other than themselves has been abysmal.

Does anyone have a link to the full Ole Miss - UF game? All I can find is the condensed one. It looks like UF came out in straight man and then played a lot more zone as the game went on. Trying to find an analog game to look at in which Ole Miss faced as much zone (ideally Cover 3) as we are likely to play against them.

Great play here flooding the zone in the deep middle, getting Stribling loose for a long TD:

The portal is also going to be a strange wrinkle here. Lacy and Chambliss both seem set to leave after the year ends. And this games in the middle of the portal
When does the portal open? This would be devastating to Ole Miss. this would have leaked out if both players and coaches bailed to LSU.
