I expect minimum 250 yards rushing and 40 minutes time of possession for the Canes
Too much talkin on the net
Heard Jakobe Thomas say in the press conference they need to keep everything in front of themI recommend you guys rewatch their playoff game against UGA. I mean really pay attention to when they have the ball. You’ll notice something and when you see it, you won’t be able to unsee it in every one of their games.
All of their scoring drives involve an explosive play. If there isn’t one, they don’t score. They have not methodically moved the ball down the field on almost anyone. Watch or scroll through all of their offensive possessions all season since Chambliss took over. It’s all you see.
He’s exactly right.Heard Jakobe Thomas say in the press conference they need to keep everything in front of them
Agree they score a ton of points on drives they have an explosive on and the most important thing we need to do on defense after stopping the run is limiting their explosive plays,I recommend you guys rewatch their playoff game against UGA. Over half of those drives were against tomato cans. They aren’t moving guys and walking it down the field on a consistent basis against anyone with a pulse. Don’t give up big plays and don’t turn the ball over and we win going away.Agree they score a ton of points on drives they have an explosive on and the most important thing we need to do on defense after stopping the run is limiting their explosive plays,
posted about it here:
Post in thread 'The Ole Miss Thread'
Limiting Ole Miss's explosive plays will be key for the defense. Since Chambliss took over they have 63 20+ yard plays against FBS teams, nearly 6 per game. They do an elite job getting TDs on drives with explosives averaging 5.5 pts/drive, getting a TD 67% of the time. They have scored a ton of 20+ yard TDs this year.
Our defense has given up 41 20+ yard plays in 13 FBS games (3.2/g) and just 15 in our last 6 (2.5/g). What's been so extraordinary over our last 6 games is on drives we give up an explosive we are only giving up 2.4 net pts/drive.
With our injuries at outside corner and...
But, they have had 12 50+ yard scoring drives without a play of 20 yards or more since Chambliss took over. They had two more against UF that they turned over on downs at the UF 1 & 3 yard line. They average 1 methodical drive a game since Chambliss took over. That's what we want to force them to do, but we shouldn't pretend they can't do it.
No, their defense is cheeks, they give up 140+ on the ground per game. Their secondary is suspect as well, Miami should score 28+ on these guys.Anyone have concerns they stop our run game?
Can their DBs cover 10 and 7?
Yeah sure. While he's spending half his time in Baton Rouge he's drawing up a completely different offense.I think Weiss will have a lot of shot we havnt seen yet for us to deal with
Some Ole Miss guys breaking down the defense.
Hopefully Heatherman and the D clean up or scrap 1:22:18 and 1:23:36. SMU, A&M, and OSU were successful with curl routes. We need to limit Ole Miss from doing the same.
I hope you are rightOle Miss feels like a March Madness Cinderella considering the fact their coach isn't even there.
Eventually, the clock strikes midnight. They exhausted the tank just to beat UGA, and we're simply better.
