While the Fins struggle,Heat seem average and the Panthers struggling The Miami Hurricanes are on fire. In more ways than one. 15 straight wins. #2 in the playoff Poll all astonishing achievements. But perhaps the residue from this is even a greater story.

Everywhere you go The Canes are the subject. I work with many people they all know I am a huge Canes fan. This week it became telling We are getting a new fan base of Millenials, fans that follow Pro ball suddenly stopping me in the halls and all with sudden embracement and knowledge of the team to the Likes that I am impressed. The city really is a buzz with Canes fans. What a pleasure and with the future so bright the build has already started with new faces. The unity of the team is rubbing off in so many different ways. South Florida made of transients are banning together from parts unknown and are calling themselves Canes.

I’ve noticed that as well I moved from Miami to West Palm in December of 2016 and I saw no buzz for the Canes. But it has all changed after ND trashing. The people are hungry for a winner and our Canes have come back from the ashes to take their rightful place atop the college football world. I love my Canes!!!

In a way its classic Deja Vu. In each new rise of the program a diffent coach and a different group of players brought on new fans. But this feels and acts different hard to put in words.

If you have a similar story please share. My Mother watched the last 3 games at home alone. Her awareness of the team was surprising. Never thought she would be doing this in a thousand years.

The Canes are the original South Florida Team. Good to see how S. Fla is excited again about the Canes.

If Schnellenberger, Johnson, or Davis had stayed, how many more NC's would Miami have? They all had NFL aspirations. Richt doesn't. Now we get to see what happens with a good coach who's not going to bolt to the NFL if he wins a championship.

When we start seeing a full stadium every Saturday then you know there are new fans on board. Or ones who don't think it is too far to drive from Orlando or Tampa for a game.

There was a legit 60,000+ for uva. That says it all.

I put my Canes flags on my truck every Saturday, even when we sucked. I always have a Canes hat sitting on my dashboard too. Nobody blinked an eye or said anything. Now I have people flashing the "U" at me in traffic almost daily. (and I'm in Bradenton) Like people go nuts, beeping and ****. My truck is custom painted green so it kinda looks like an official Canes vehicle.

I wear Miami stuff around town and it always sparks up a conversation now. Dude hollered "how bout them Canes" from across the parking lot a few days ago.

The buzz is definitely noticeable.

My experience as well. In a town that is somewhat polarized and unfriendly strangers are sharing a common bond. And it's all because of our Canes a flattering feeling for the diehards team and coaches.

I was watching our UVA game at a restaurant/bar in Orlando. This isn't the first time I've watched a game at this specific location in the past few years. I'm usually the only Cane's fans in the entire building though. Well this time there were several guys scattered around the restaurant who were cheering for the Canes. I thought I was the only one until Miami made a big play and I heard claps/cheers from all over the restaurant.

Not surprised as many people originally from soFla have moved to central Florida, no?

I live in the Annapolis (MD) area and the other day I went to local supermarket after gym wearing an old Canes'
hoodie when a dude in the supermarket who has been working there for years starts asks me if I have a "Turnover Chain".
Stunned.
LOL.

Its not just SFla, this shlt happens to me at least 3-4x a week up here in Atlanta...

I live about 45 min north of Orlando. Years past...for at least a decade, there's been NO places to go, where there's any more than 1 or 2 cane fans, at a time, cheering us on. Currently, there's 2, within just a few miles of home, and on any given Saturday, there's at least a half a dozen, at each of those places, and it seems those numbers are growing by the week!!
Canes apparel..and memorabilia...same thing, a ton of new stuff showing up (its all money coming back to the school)..truly amazing for year 2 under real leadership!

Before the Notre Dame game, I was driving home from work early Saturday morning and there was a white Escalade clad in UM health administration decals. We’re in palm beach county, Boynton to be exact, and everyone on the 95 were honking there horns at the truck and throwing up U’s. At least 4 or 5 cars near the vehicle was; and of course I did as well. It was a cute morena driving the car, she saw me and laughed and shot me a U.
