The JoJo thread

I think we need to move on from this being about weed. Jojo has got some limited reps and hasn’t done anything with them.

I was driving the Jojo bus all summer and thought he’d emerge as a strong #2 or possible 1. But I’ve heard reports about coaches taking issue with his lack of effort at times such as in blocking. And in his limited snaps he hasn’t really made plays as a receiver to stand out. I’m not surprised the staff prefers Marion.

Sucks tho as Marion is clearly a limited receiver.

That’s a big time list. On the grunge side, all you need is STP and Nirvana.

I saw that 86 Ozzie show - at the Capitol Center in Maryland with Metallica opening up. I saw those Van Halen shows as well - going back to diver down.
I've seen STP 3 times. Once on the Tiny Music tour in 97 with Cheaptrick opening and then on the No4 tour at Hard Rock Live in Orlando in 2000. Saw them in Tampa at the Ice Palace in 2002.

I saw Van Hagar in 1986 and David Lee Roth solo later that year but I never got to see Van Halen with David Lee Roth in their prime. I finally got the opportunity to see them in 2012 in Tampa. I enjoyed the show but it wasn't the same as it was in the 80s. It was almost like Dave losing his hair took away his power as a front man. I know age comes for us all but the baton twirling thing Dave was doing in 2012 just wasn't for me lol.

I’ve seen every iteration of VH and Roth even Hagar pre-Van Halen. Diver Down and 1984 were my first two shows and then yr 1 of Van Hagar I saw. It was a totally different band.

I'm not saying I didn't like them, but I always felt people got a little too gung ho about Stone Temple Pilots at the expense of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.
I liked all 3 especially STP and Soundgarden. I liked STP over Pearl Jam. It's just personal preference as I liked STPs sound and songwriting style much more than Pearl Jam's. I still liked Pearl Jam just not as much as the other 2. I loved their first album "Ten" and I absolutely loved the Temple of the Dog album.

No kidding, around 2000 I was inside a hotel in Vegas that Scott Weiland was at - Mandalay Bay - and he must of had a drug-induced crash out somewhere because he was lost from his people and he was literally paged at least a half dozen times notifying him that his party is trying to locate him 🤣

Spinalis Dorsi/Ribcap - Medium Rare.

Go to a butcher. Thank me later.

Last 2 times I went to Gordon Ramsay Steak in Vegas, this is what I ordered. Wagyu, of course.

Watching the warm up drills, JoJo catches the ball as effortlessly as anyone I have ever seen. He’s a natural. It’s only a matter of time with him. With Marion’s drop issues, look for JoJo to have a break out game against SMU.

I saw STP at the Grand Ole Opry. Incredible show, even though Weiland was battling heroin, but the other three were excellent.

I’d have to go STP, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, with Nirvana and Pearl Jam tied for 4th, of the Grunge era. Just my opinion.

When I saw them, they were 45 minutes late coming on stage and you could tell the band was ****ed at Scott. On the first song, the guitar player missed a note and threw his pick against the backdrop. After that they calmed down and put on a **** of a show, even though Scott was obviously out of it and almost mechanical at that point.

What a **** shame. Weiland was so talented and could mimic any sound or music style. He nailed their cover of Dancing Days like he was Plant and then made you believe he was Morrison with the surviving Doors, on Break on Through.

What year was the show you are talking about? Was it before or after his stint in Velvet Revolver? When I saw them the first time on the Tiny Music tour, Weiland came out in very dapper light blue dress pants, white dress shirt and matching light blue suit jacket/sport coat with really nice brown dress shoes. It went with the more polished sound of the album they were supporting at the time plus it was common knowledge that Weiland was a huge fan of all things sartorial.

The next time I saw STP was in support of their next album simply titled "#4". It was a New Years Eve show at Hard Rock Live Orlando to ring in 2000. They opened up with Lounge Fly and Weiland comes out shirtless with these black leather pants a giant black 10 gallon cowboy style hat and a purple feather boa around his neck(Pause) lol. They absolutely brought the house down and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Weiland had total and complete command of the audience from the rip right on through the final encore. Weiland was without question a great rock singer but he was one of the most naturally gifted frontmen I've ever seen do it and in my humble opinion he was the last true "Rockstar". It was truly sad to see him around the time of his death as he was taking a medication that sapped him of all his vitality and personality. Naturally, everyone assumed he was just high on drugs and who could blame them? Losing Scott Weiland then Chris Cornell 2 years later was devastating. RIP

I have the same list in the same order. Completely forgot to mention Alice in Chains. They were one of my favorite bands and Jerry Cantrell was one of my biggest influences on the guitar.

Man some of you are a glutton for punishment keeping this thread going. And covering for grown men, which is what these players are now and have asked to be treated as such, who make bad choices on the heels of one making a similar mistake that cost people their lives is definitely a take. Hope you aren't parents....

Always look at these situations through the “if this were my kid” lens. And in that context, I would hope the coaches drop the hammer on my son and issued him an ultimatum, making him work his *** off to earn back their trust. If they didn’t, I would myself. Crazy that this is even debatable, especially after his former teammate is looking at a long term prison sentence for ******* around in a car.
