I agree. The thing with mid majors, there’s a ton of skill guys in those ranks who make the pros. The one group that is largely dominated by P4 guys? The OL. We’ve got two 1st round talents at Tackle. A day 2 G in Cooper. I bet Brockenmeyer is a late pick. One of the rotation guys at the other G will be a pro. Even the best DLs are gonna struggle against that. They just are.Cigs is an elite talent evaluator and thanks to him being at JMU, was able to speed run the rebuild at IU by bringing in guys he knew could play and already knew what to do. Cigs relies on older guys mostly from the midmajor ranks, which is useful when you are playing teams significantly younger. The issue is what happens when you play a team where the age gap isn't nearly as wide, they are just as physical and have guys with legit NFL talent. That's where Miami comes in. I look at IU and I see a ton of outstanding college players, that will be working in Corporate America in six months. I look at Miami, I see a fair number of guys that will be playing on Sundays whether next year or a couple of years from now...
Honestly, Cigs is the thing that worries me the most. Dude is just a straight savage as a coach, he gets the most out of his players and fully understands what works for him. That's dangerous.
That’s the difference and needs to be our backbone against IU.
