The game just changed forever

There won't be any UM uniforms involved. Players can sell their own likeness. They can't use UM's logos.

Then it's neither here nor there I guess. Does the chain count as a uniform? The "305" is Miami really not the University of Miami. Thanks for clarifying.

Go Canes!

No it isn't. 95% of our roster, or any roster, is not going to have the name recognition to have people paying for commercials or autographs.

Do you know how many no name offensive lineman from the NFL I've seen on small car dealership commercials? All they need is "Hi I'm ________ from the Miami Hurricanes and as a Miami native I can tell you about _________"

Please................

The Potamkons (sic) have been in Miami for 60+ years.

Miami has 4M people residing in Dade County alone... The potential for sponsorship money is at least 20x and maybe 40x more in Miami than in the entire state of Alabama.

South Florida is on pace to sell 204,712 cars during 2019. Alabama will not sell that in a decade. If they can get the team rolling, most small businesses will want to sponsor a player.

The cars sold in a given year in South Florida outnumber the total amount of healthy teeth currently in place in the entire state of Alabama!

People in Miami-Dade County aren't going to all of a sudden buy a car because some unknown kid is in a commercial.

I live in Atlanta... if people don't think that Bama, UGA, and Auburn alums are the majority of the city with countless sponsorship opportunities then I don't know what to say. Same with Nashville and Tennessee or Dallas/Houston with A&M and UT. The point is, there are plenty of big cities with strong school networks across the country.
This is true. But right now we can’t offer anything. I’m hoping this will give us something at least.

SEC teams can have relatives molesting each other chains. "My mother and father are brother and sister and that the way I am. Hey!"

Go Canes!

Except they can't say they are from the Miami Hurricanes. You guys have to grasp this. A player can profit off his own likeness. He can't use the school's name or logos.

Lol;

If you think this benefits us in any way, u’re sadly mistaken.

This benefits Texas, Michigan, Bama, OSU, Georgia, USCw, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Florida, & Oklahoma.

These are the top selling merchandise programs.

You all keep thinking we’re the 80’s - early 2000 Canes. We ain’t moving no weight in the merchandise industry. We barely get on National TV. If anything, this will hurt even more. So not only can the bag man creep through, but now player A can make exponentially more side $ from jersey sales at said school. Now, Universities can use this as another ploy to recruit.

U’re dreaming if u think this helps us in any way.

idiocy at its finest.

IF the kids are smart, they'd create a pot and all share the money. Not every kid is going to get a "deal". The marquee superstars and others will. If that take that money and disperse it to all then I think it keeps it from being all about "Me me me me me". They're suppose to be brothers right? We gon see...
Yeah, good luck with the whole team concept after this.

No changes are being made. NCAA is buying time with this "press release."

It said absolutely nothing.

Of all 4 million residents in Miami I bet you there are less people that can name 3 players on our team than Birmingham can name 20 on Alabama.

This impairs the Foundations. Miami can say to a recruit: "Go play for the KKK and no one knows who you are. Play for Miami or USC and the entire country knows who you are." This helps the U immensely. Also, if you can get Rodriguez or the Rock or other NFL players to help openly pay UM prospects, that puts us in the same league as the 'Dawgs or KKK U (i.e. Alabama).

Yes no one knows who Tua is. A shame he's stuck behind that white hood they force him to wear. 🥴
