The FSU game crowd

The student overflow section needs to be removed and opened to the general public. Other than ND 2017, I can't remember ever seeing that upper deck corner completely filled.

The "student overflow section" needs to be "the seats in the marching band section not actually occupied by marching band members".

Upper west endzone that was empty is the Student overflow.
And what people don’t understand is that many of the overflow goes downs below with the rest so it looks that way because Miami jas to reserve them an actual seat.

In the old ob days on big games with the benches in student section you might have 2x seats in a row then some sparse rows then normal full up top under the upper deck for shade

And for years, some on this board wanted to build a tin can stadium on campus for these trust fund kids....
...can't even sit through a game against your biggest rival ...
Go figure.
Yes a part of miami students have money but most are not trust fund kids but yeah don’t let your stereotypes get in the way as you probably rage at national stereotypes about our fans.

Sincerely a “Miami alum trust fund kid with no trust fund who only got to go years ago via scholarships and loans”

I can understand the elderly leaving at half, but students leaving is the reason why I always scoff at people wanting an on or near campus stadium. Why? The people who go and stay for the whole game are the south Florida market fans, not the campus fans.

Canes football is much more a community asset than a rallying point for campus pride

Maybe more people would stay if it were easier to get out of the parking lots after a game. I went to a game and it took well over an hour to get out...

To be fair, this has been mostly fixed this year. They significantly cut down the size of the marching band area (and increased the size of the band). It looks nothing like years past where each band kid had like 8 seats around them.

It’s because Miami holds open seats period. Instead of students getting limited accesss or having to pay for them separately from the gazillion they pay already for school like at other universities
I hear you, and I'm not saying the university shouldn't hold those sections open for students... I'm just saying the students need to get their asses to the game. There was a better student turnout for FAMU than there was for FSU. **** is ridiculous.

yeah this always looks weird on TV, take up an entire section for what looks like 30 band members and lets spread them way TF out to try to take up more space. I dont get it. Fit em in half the section and let the kids pile in behind.

Also I was a student and my freshman year we had the OB, soph we went to hard rock, even at the OB kids would dip early really to just go party in the grove. At HRS kids left early because any of you complaining about leaving HRS and the traffic, now imagine that but x10 as you have to wait in like with thousands of other kids for a freaking bus, then sit in the bus and take that longggggg *** ride home at charter bus speeds. I had a truck during those years and kids knew they could just hop in the flatbed if they saw me and I swear some nights the truck looked like those trains in India with people piled on, kids do NOT like that **** bus and just want to get tf outta there. Leaving at half when your tied 14-14 with your rival is odd though, cant say I recalled seeing that during my time there.
