Armbrister and Pierre wasn’t good lol. Idc if they got a chance in the nfl. They weren’t good here. He was bad at development. Chickillo and bush are prime examples. And was a bad recruiter. Landing a handful of good players then loading up the rest of the class with guys who aren’t Miami caliber isn’t good recruiting.

**** o-line couldn’t even block clemson when they were sending only 3 rushers. Team got physically dominated whenever they played anybody with a pulse. Your memory must be clouded because it was bad
I knew pretending to defend golden would set people off hahaha

I cant stand that guy. watching him blow a game against OSU two years ago because he had 10 guys on the field on back to back plays at the one yard line was epic. Richt is the one guy I give a pass. he gave us two good years then got sick.

Harbaugh - 20-6 his first 2 years.
Mario - 12-13 his first 2 years.

But yea **** my own face, right?
Now go ahead and list the years with his own recruits including how he had to take a pay cut b/c Michigan sucked until he turned around the trenches and won a national title with a pork chop at QB being Tuff N Fisical.

thats the point. I was not a Mario fan. I didnt want that hire to be honest but if he dont get it going, we are DONE. he has to make it work.
I get it, and I know you weren’t pushing for him, but we can’t will success under him to fruition. I just don’t think he has it to get us above stable and respectable… and that’s a step up. Not where we were hoping but at least a raised floor. I wish more than anything now that we hired a coach who makes good evals doing more with less and can call a game well. I’ve said for a while that the NIL thing has neutered his strongest aspect. But he’s here for years more given the contract so people calling for him to be fired and flying those banners or whatever they threaten are not going to change the guaranteed $50 million or so left on his contract. I’m numb man. I root for UM because that’s how I grew up but I don’t expect to see what we hope for anytime soon.

And I think Golden’s evals > Mario’s evals
I disagree. Look at golden 2012 class where he signed 32 guys. 26 of them was either bust, was solid but never played to ranking, or never did anything. Basically all his classes was the same. It was way more misses than hits. Why this team lacked depth for so many years under him.

He did do a good job finding a few lower ranked guys like Njoku, jackson, Herndon

He was 86-25 at Michigan with a national championship and 3 B10 titles. That’s better than what Mario did when he took over an already very good Oregon program. And over a longer period of time and with a much tougher conference/schedule.

they will never dump in these resources if he fails. thats my concern.

Didn’t set me off I just thought maybe you didn’t remember from being drunk because it was bad

It’s a death of a thousand cuts.

1. The brand isn’t nearly as strong with the youth. These kids care nothing about Miami from 20-30 years ago. They barely remember what they ate for breakfast and it’s a short attention span society on top of it . I have a HS kid that works for me when schools out. He’s a low level D1 commit. He looks at me like I have turds hanging out of my mouth when I try to explain what we used to be. These kids know who’s playing in big games and winning natties. Wins do matter.

2. Development and draft. These recruits pay attention to who’s getting drafted at their positions and who’s being developed. Miami has been almost non existent in the early rounds for a good while. There’s a reason OSU keeps landing stud after stud at wr. Every Saturday there’s a three hour infomercial on the wr position.

3. Conference. Yes it matters , it’s not the end all but it’s one of the ingredients in the cake. These kids know the perception. The Sec is slurped nationally by the day and even more during the season. On top of that they see the draft. They want to be considered the best so the narrative is the Sec is just that. So of course they want to say ā€œ I play in the Secā€. Being in the Acc one hundred percent has a negative affect on things. As I said earlier ā€œ kids have asked for 200 k more to come here because it wasn’t the Sec. Oh and spare me on the ND comparison. That brand is bigger and stronger nationally on top of having their very own network. Also let’s not forget being far more relevant than Miami the last 10–15 years.

4. Coaching. Mario isn’t considered a high level coach , nowhere close , that’s just the blunt truth. Kids want to be coached and well. We brought in a guy everyone knew was an elite recruiter and haven’t got elite results. If he can’t keep Miami top 5-7 in recruiting rankings consistently we’ll get the same results . He’s not going to overcome talent with his gameday coaching.

5. NIL. I save the most important one for last. Kids want to get paid . Miami is a top ten NIL program but they are not elite. There’s 4-5 teams that just play at a different level. Miami is far from being the Rays but nowhere close to being the Dodgers.

The uncomfortable truth is the Miami program and a lot of us fans view the program as something that we aren’t nationally. We’re closer to Pit than Georgia even though most of our recruiting battles are against UGA and teams at their level. Thank god for NIL!! The brand has been abused worse than Tina Turner.

One ten win season every 8-10 years won’t change the narrative and perception. Especially when you nose dive to finish the two times we accomplished double figure wins. Fans nationally believe Ward did everything last year and put cologne on the program . So this year is an absolute must to keep trending up. The one thing Mario has left to tell kids is look at the programs direction, 5,7,10 and double figures again.

The Acccg and a playoff spot is essential. That’s not hyperbole or fan hope. That’s the feeling inside the program. The coaches know how important this year is.

It’s year four and there’s been a lot of equity piled into this roster / staff. Any thing less than improvement is another lost season with a program and fan base stuck in the drive way.

We can literally win the Super Bowl this season and they won’t come. Outbid simple
Idc what you did on the field I’m taking the mo

kayvon? cam don't count? arroyo? Francis will be a top pick. he needs more but lets not act like he cant develop.
No HC specializes in more than 1 or 2 position groups. Sabag was DB’s. Mario is OL. It’s all about the coordinators and position coaches a HC hires. A HC can help bring in talent but the position coaches are tasked with developing that talent.
