The Foreclosure (7/12)

I truly believe Mario is THE GUY and yes he made hires that were more about ego coming back here than team fit and yeah it set us back but he's had to learn better
Talent acquisition is a skill he is great at...no problems
Time management could be so much better at
But much is expected and we deserve it. This has to be the year

And that still was our best season in 20 years so
And it wasn’t convincing enough, and honestly doesn’t mean shii. This team could easily have another mediocre season just like they’ve been doing majority of the past 2 decades. Putting out a consistent good product on the field matters, we are recruiting against the best of the best.

This year is a big year for him but let’s be honest about last year. We ended with a thud and had to pull out miracles to win 2 other games.

This year has to be the year for Mario bc we lose a lot of talent this year and we’ll probably have to go to the portal again at qb.

Agreed. Wins are wins though. We say he went 7-5 in 2023, because he did, but the GT game was the biggest ****** decision in the history of mankind. So we really went 8-4, but it doesn’t work like that. We went 7-5. So last year we went 10-2.

And I’d argue the only miracle was Cal. VT was an insane finish but they’re the ones who needed the miracle. And it wasn’t answered.

Looking at it on the surface, yes 10-2 was not bad, but when you look at the opportunity and they way it ended it’s worse. We still recruiting better than our in state rivals though.

To be honest...why wouldn't he come here? The backfield is crowded but if he felt he could ball here🤷🏿‍♂️

On UF: when we played them last year, it was Graham Mertz at QB. This year it’s lagway, probably the best QB in the country. I don’t expect there to be anything remotely resembling the apparent talent gap we saw last year.

On recruits: this program hasn’t been able to develop for 20 years. We don’t have enough day 1-2 draft picks. We live in the portal despite recruiting a roster full of blue chips every year. That needs to change.

On the bright side, if Miami does put it together for a full season, this is still a cool place to be. As fast as the momentum recently shifted against us, it can come right back. Gotta win on the field.
Get Lagway's nuts out of your face

I’m no Lagway hater, but what is this based on lol
I honestly thought Lagway haters were trolling when they brought up people saying he was the best. For sure they were lying to try and prop up their hate

Turns out I was wrong. Absolutely wild thing to say

everyone talks about conferences but ND does fine as an indy.
Problem is when is the last time you have turned an NFL game on and saw a miami player dominating?
Do we even get anyone in the pro bowl anymore? these kids dont know what great miami players look like.
there was a time when half the pro bowl was miami players.

A guy like Justin Scott might be the most important player on our team. Develop a guy like him and some of our other more talented guys and kids will see it.

I would have been thinking about alllll those big ole Kountryyyy Honky Tonk Badonkadonks ( an I am referring to the real ones, not those baby nugget butt checks some of these ladies are trying to pass off as juicy big country ***) at Hard Rock stadium.

This is the disconnect. We have people that clearly have never been involved in sales before. 90% is about money so you have to be on the ball park. It's the 10% variable that is separate on what moves the needle for that particular sale that has to be accounted for and you have to understand what pushes that person to make a decision beyond just the money and there are some people that the money is 100% what matters and you have to know who they are too. We can have a top 5 NIL and still not have top 5 class because of those variables. I personally think the ACC is good for us on the field. Least resistance to the playoff, but it can be a detriment off the field. If we can check more of the variable boxes, conference, winning, when you are going against the best of the best now it's a true best salesman wins and there is no reason you shouldn't be able to sell Miami at that point. It's Mario's job to get it done this year to make his own job easier moving forward.
There’s others apparently offering a ton of money as well and then it’s sales and we can’t overcome certain things- @Cribby mentioned conference being one that is killing us. I’m sure Mario’s general coaching acumen on game day, lack of high round nfl picks… all of it is contributing

This may have been asked already but kids don’t just go from believing to not believing in your program in 1 month so what changed from all this supposed positive momentum we thought we had in recruiting?
The low hanging fruit (ie: guys that really wanted to be at Miami) had committed and now the battles have been with guys that aren't as sold.

Pretty well documented that Russell just wasn't the priority (including $) to Miami that he was to others.

Cooper is just another in the long line of guys that say they want to rep the crib, 305/954, but in the end get seduced by the $EC/Ohio State. They want to be followers rather than bring back their hometown school but what they don't realize is that for every JSmith/JJeudy/SMichel there are 5x S FL guys that didn't do **** and we're never heard from again.

Cuts both ways ... have to show guys that they can be successful staying home but we also need someone to have some pride and be the first to chart their own territory.

Texas was good from 2001-09. Then they sucked until 2023. That was all through these kids childhood, same as Miami. But the Florida kids don’t know that because they didn’t live in Texas.
and yet the Texas kids still dream of putting on for UT while the Miami mercenaries have no hometown pride.

I don’t buy that winning cures all, I also don’t buy just outbid them…

The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Optics/perception matters. These kids on social media see everything, Miami has continuously embarrassed themselves on the national stage.

2017 Notre dame Media wanted us back…we **** the bed to end the year

2024 stomp UF, media is talking UM is back with Ward. Every conference game is a nail biter against ACC (media is very down on competition in ACC). **** the bed to end the year.

The two years we have been Nationally relevant in any capacity we shoot ourselves in the foot with a shotgun.

The only thing these kids know about Miami is we’re going to lose in November against the likes of Syracuse and Pittsburgh. Take off the homer glasses and realize we have not been remotely relevant in playoff contention is 20-25 years. The kids we are recruiting weren’t born..
Your first sentence is contradicted by everything else you typed afterward .... which is it?
