The Foreclosure (7/12)

The last 2 have been the worst ones so far as far as closing top targets late since he’s been here. Most of these kids will not flip. It’s a major fail.

The part that boggles the mind is that we have a Top 3 consensus player in the nation committed, which usually means that a lot of other top players would usually want to join that kind of class, but for some reason it’s working in reverse for us. Now with the news that Cooper is most likely gone too, it’s gone from a poor close to a horrendous close.

Lol

“Win and they will come”

Best season we had in awhile they don’t come pause

Goalpost: “we didn’t make the playoffs that’s why”

5-7 year one good class

Goalpost: “you can sell what your building your a new HC”

All bs
Aren’t you the guy who said that winning doesn’t matter and Mario would get top classes because he has a great personality?

Recruiting is 90% about money.
Yes money is easily the biggest part of the decision but a lot of times the money is close . What then? That’s when relationships , conference , development / draft and environment come in as the deciding factors. These kids 100 percent know what conference gets the most guys drafted and what’s considered the best league . It’s literally slammed down their throats by media and the coaches recruiting them. To the point kids have wanted 200 k more to not go to the Sec school.

I know this is a Miami Hurricane board but Georgia , Bama , Osu and even Texas hit much different to these kids. Those teams have 24 hour nonstop PR during CFB season.

Let Cristobal stink it up one more time and I'll beg for Lashlee as head coach (I'd do it right now if I know there was any possibility cause he can actually coach on game day)

They also don't have stupid handlers who are looking for handouts or sandwiches like Wimbrow

TrumpyCane thinks if there were idiots like Luke publicly ****ting on the program, they would be dealt with quick

On UF: when we played them last year, it was Graham Mertz at QB. This year it’s lagway, probably the best QB in the country. I don’t expect there to be anything remotely resembling the apparent talent gap we saw last year.

On recruits: this program hasn’t been able to develop for 20 years. We don’t have enough day 1-2 draft picks. We live in the portal despite recruiting a roster full of blue chips every year. That needs to change.

On the bright side, if Miami does put it together for a full season, this is still a cool place to be. As fast as the momentum recently shifted against us, it can come right back. Gotta win on the field.

I won’t sugarcoat it. I’m expecting more bad news, based on recent conversations. There isn’t much confidence on anyone right now, including Derrek Cooper.

I’ve thought we’d get him from the beginning, and still think we can flip him at some point. But we’re behind Texas headed into the announcement. And this is an absolute top priority recruit.

It seems a lot of kids still don’t believe in Miami. And the local players least of all. That’s understandable- they know us the best. Many of our fans don’t believe in us after two decades of disappointment.

The bottom line is we need to get over the hump. We were on the verge when we forgot to kneel against Georgia Tech. We were on the verge when we were up 21-0 on Syracuse. We need to get to the next level as a program to prove we aren’t the place dreams go to die.

Until then, we will be fighting a lot of uphill battles.
This year it's win the acc and make playoff or bust.

The worst thing is despite all these resources Mario still cant get the job done. Whats going to happen if we have a subpar year? He gets canned, then replacement doesnt get the resources to even recruit adequately. If mario fails this season, Im convinced we will never win a natty. Sucks
Forget a natty, can he win the ACC? Can he even get us to Charlotte? Those are the more pressing questions.

Can anyone explain the seismic shift happened in the span of 4-6 weeks that led all of our insiders saying that this will be a Top 5 class, potentially top 3, to what ever the **** is going on now? No one has any clue what transpired?! Or was it just a bunch of bull**** to drive clicks
I’ve asked this over and over again and tagged @DMoney multiple times.

An answer would be greatly appreciated. What changed so drastically? The Syracuse loss didn’t just happen. The fans complaining didn’t just happen. Nothing apparently (publicly at least) changed between mid June and now, yet here we are. Did NIL dry up after Cantwell? That seems to be the most logical explanation for our nosedive.

I'd say the kids that were more sure on Miami committed earlier, and we are losing battles for the more borderline kids.

I don't think there is any dramatic explanation.

Yeah something funky is going on. This is like our government telling us Epstein had no client list! We don't buy it! Transparency would be terrific, especially when people who pushed the top 5 class narrative give crappy canned answers. They make the meltdown worse by saying we were going to be top 5

We have to win the acc no questions asked this year. A win over ND, and our two rivals UF and fsu will greatly help things. Not sure we can go undefeated in regular season this year but we almost have to overachieve to make up for last 3 years under Mario. Thats my opinion.
