2024 class I stopped watching all our targets. I watched all those DL like Stone, Breland, Stewart, the other kid that went to Oklahoma, just a ton of recruits we got and didn’t get. I watch our verbals only now unless there’s a big argument over a certain recruit like Russell, Cooper, Brown or Lopez. Then I can’t help myself. Otherwise it’s on the coaches so why get all flustered and emotionally committed much less wasting all that time?
 
I don’t buy that winning cures all, I also don’t buy just outbid them…

The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Optics/perception matters. These kids on social media see everything, Miami has continuously embarrassed themselves on the national stage.

2024 stomp UF, media is talking UM is back with Ward. Every conference game is a nail biter against ACC (media is very down on competition in ACC). **** the bed to end the year.

The two years we have been Nationally relevant in any capacity we shoot ourselves in the foot with a shotgun.

The only thing these kids know about Miami is we’re going to lose in November against the likes of Syracuse and Pittsburgh. Take off the homer glasses and realize we have not been remotely relevant in playoff contention is 20-25 years. The kids we are recruiting weren’t born..

The Lashlee love on here is funny to me. I liked him a ton felt he was Manny’s best hire. And I’m impressed with what he’s doing at SMU but elevate an OC to HC from a failed program who never had HC experience before? That would be a fire-able offense by the AD IMO.

All totally fair. I’m actually pretty pumped about this team right now. We all know injuries could ruin the season. But if we stay healthy I do see us winning the ACC and making a playoff run. and that’s where we should be in Y4 of Mario so no excuses.

I know this is a Miami Hurricane board but Georgia , Bama , Osu and even Texas hit much different to these kids. Those teams have 24 hour nonstop PR during CFB season.

Yup. And when UM is recruiting kids in the heart of SEC country that multiple SEC schools are prioritizing, we’re going to lose a lot more than we are going to win. Hopefully they are casting a wide enough net and have good backup plans. I may be wrong, but I do not think the portal is going to be as fruitful going forward with multiple year contracts now seemingly standard, and if that is true whiffing on HS kids is going to get more costly.

Yea that’s why I quoted it cause that’s what CIS said and they not coming pause. Because we had our best year last year and are struggling

I love this… keep it coming!! This happens every off season and then there’s an opposite and as dramatic reaction. There’s a pattern and a found utility in the annual ship jumping. Just unfortunate that this is even needed to get results. There’s an incompetence in that alone.

I’ve thought we’d get him from the beginning, and still think we can flip him at some point. But we’re behind Texas headed into the announcement. And this is an absolute top priority recruit.

It seems a lot of kids still don’t believe in Miami. And the local players least of all. That’s understandable- they know us the best. Many of our fans don’t believe in us after two decades of disappointment.

The bottom line is we need to get over the hump. We were on the verge when we forgot to kneel against Georgia Tech. We were on the verge when we were up 21-0 on Syracuse. We need to get to the next level as a program to prove we aren’t the place dreams go to die.

Until then, we will be fighting a lot of uphill battles.

We're on the verge again, until the season starts with Notre Dame.

I wont be there, but I'm comfortable with judging from a distance.

On top of Mauigoa and Bain We can still get something out of Fletcher, Pancake, Damari Brown, Kinsler, Bryant, Popo and Bobby Washington. Plus the punter Joyce, of course. And if Jackson Carver ever gets healthy, maybe he can be good depth. And then there is Emory.

But yeah, the talent evals were pretty bad there. Only guys who could have contributed here are Riley Williams and Josh Horton (big losses IMO). Achaeompong is at Bowling Green, Robby is at East Carolina, Tinilau is at East Tennessee State. Those are legit eval failures. ... Tripp is at FIU, though I think you take him because he helped us with all the IMG targets. Wayne transferred to Washington and now is transferring with his position coach there to Cal, Stafford is at UCLA now, CJ is at SMU, Pulliam was depth at Michigan State, has a shot to be in the rotation this year... maybe one of them does something?

Because it’s only 1 year and people are saying it’s only because cam ward. And they are using that too saying oh they had the best qb In cfb and still couldn’t even make the acccg

watching a living pop tart jumping to its own death in a toaster , then coming out cooked to be eaten by the winning team , after a meaningless bowl was pretty magical. You’d think that alone would’ve gotten us multiple five stars
 
This is Year #4 of a major rebuild. We are still building a solid foundation for a consistent program. This program had been basura for so long that it will take more than one 10+ win season to prove we can once again be consistent.
Is anyone out recruiting Mario? He and the staff are relentless. The fans and university are doing their part via NIL contributions and facilities. We are getting enough players either through HS or transfer portal to better execute the game plan year over year. Let’s stay focused on improvement and winning.
If these kids don’t jump on with UM this year, then with the portal, we will have a chance to reel them in another year. We have a Top 10 class currently and we have until December to flip some others that committed to programs that may implode this upcoming season.
