He would've earned more than enough to support his kids growing up with a UM degree and the connects he would have made while in school. I get wanting the best for your kids, but sacrifice for another year would have given him a much better chance at being able to handle his financial obligations.

Depends ultimately on his degree. Any degree is better than none though and we have no idea if he would've even finished his final year. He can still do so at no cost, but having a real job and finishing school can be tough. On the surface it certainly looks like a boneheaded decision.
