the dude can't recruit

Good one on the "Bermuda Wrong Angle guys!" The Bermuda Triangle is the best group of LBs is college football history. They played a combined 35+ years in the league. That was a great group and throw in Gino and "the Ruthless Posse" and you had a pretty good squad!
And dismantled one night in New Orleans.

An embarrassment. (Especially at RT where Mario was so beaten up they had to pull him for Zev Lumelski.)

They only went 23-1 in 91 & 92, won a NC and you come with the Bama loss. That is still the best LB trio ever in college football. The 91 and 92 o lines were awful. Thankfully coach E came with the one back and let Gino throw it around.

Dude do you see how easy Whisky ran down our throats with their backup QB? If you guys think Manny's defense was anywhere near championship level than you're in for a rude awakening.
Did you see how easily Pitt ran down the throats of Jimmy Johnson's almost NC defense (which included Jerome Brown, Dan Sileo, Bill Hawkins, Danny Stubbs) in '86 with no starting QB John Congemi and two untested totally inexperienced backups?

Ironhead Heyward had over 250 yards.

But Vinny threw 3 or 4 TDs, can't remember which, so we won handily.

When Vinny threw 5 or 6 picks later that season to PSU, we lost the NC, despite holding PSU to under 200 yards total offense.

If u win u don’t have to be the best recruiter. U think SABAN is a great recruiter lol the dude drops bags anyone could be good at that

- At LB, who does he have behind the Bermuda Wrong Angle (guys Golden brought in)?

- How many of our top DB prospects have spurned us under Manny?

- Our DT situation is less than ideal right now, too.

Nothing about his body of work here says great recruiter. That’s problematic.

My biggest concern about Diaz. Need to be an elite recruiter. Saban, Dabo, Smart and Urban are all elite recruiters.

Ah let's add them up CJ Henderson, ah **** it's too many to count... never mind Not to mention he's yet to develop one 1st team ACC and first rounder from his defenses. Diaz is serviceable at best. Duke came in the Rock and best us during homecoming. I'm just sayin'

Duke has 290 yards of offense, clearly the Loss was on the Defense

I don't know if they were the best LB crew ever. But pretty **** good. I just have these terrible memories of Derrick Lassic slicing through that LB group play-after-play for big gains. It was a nightmare that still won't go away. Who do you blame that on? The coordinator? Was it Tuberville? The Navy guy, McMackin? Just don't remember.

Watching that 91 coming out party against Houston, it’s crazy the beating Gino took that first half even as we blew them out. That was a bad Houston defense, and they were still owning our OL.

I think it was Sonny. It was a bad night for sure but those three guys had 35+ years in the NFL, that's unmatched.

I was in Happy Valley in 92 and saw Gino after the game, took a beating. Kehoe's boys were like the Sun Pass lane!

ok people want to say richt had 3 classes prior to this one but don't want to give his coaches credit for landing those guys? really. u cant have it both ways. either the jr class was richt and staff or it wasn't it doesn't go both ways.

That's very similar to a statement made by Jimmy Johnson one year, and very accurately describes how he built a powerhouse.

Contrary to what you might believe, Jimmy rarely signed 5-stars.
Correct, Jimmy valued speed.
He once said, We can coach em up,, but we can't make them faster..
