If we go up 2 scores we don't lose that game.. It wasn't the only play that cost us, but it was huge..
Question, Did Miami still have the lead after Dobard fumbled?
Yes. Up 23-17. We were driving back after they had just scored. Dobard killed us there.
okay so the answer is yes which means that this entire thread is nothing but some sort of pathetic attempt to make excuses over an individual play that didnt lose us the game by itself.
it was nothing, how about if we had a coach like Jimbo who tells reporters they have nothing to worry about and are playing just fine, after being down 21-0 or 23-7, then UM fans who arent brainwashed by years of incompetence would understand how much of nothing that play meant to the outcome of the game.
It seems that the fan base is absolutely IN LOVE with comparing our own approach to the Seminole approach to things.
Everything I've seen has basically been, "well, they were able to get away with it"
What the **** kind of foundation for success is that? The opposition makes mistakes and because they were able to dodge those bullets (bullets that will almost assuredly come back to bite them when they face a team who doesn't make those mistakes), it's now okay for us to make those mistakes? "We should be able to overcome those mistakes, because they are apart of the game" seems to be the company line and I ain't with it in the slightest. There's no reason that we shouldn't have been better than them in taking care of the football. Turnovers (ESPECIALLY FUMBLES), are well within the control of the players. Because FSU can't hold on to the ball, doesn't mean it's cool for us to be running around loosely with the football.
Frank Gore fumbled for the first time this season yesterday and it took his QB tripping him and and an offensive linemen kicking the football out of his grasp. Short of extraneous circumstances like this, or somebody straight up rocking you like a mac truck, at which point your body is separated from the football, there is no excuse for fumbles. Getting stripped is straight up degrading.
Our standard should have absolutely ZERO to do with what somebody else can stand to afford. What FSU was able to overcome is of no consequence. OUR goal should be to play sound, disciplined, and fundamental football, independent of what the other team does, the same way ya mamma probably told you to mind your business and do your work when you started cryin to her about the teacher not liking you and about her liking the other kid more, after YOU didn't do the homework and failed a test.
Take care of the football. End Of Discussion.
