The Crowd

I think it doesn't represent the point of my post.

The home side has significantly more people than the away side. Every game.

That's bullcrap. The "UM side" middle is empty and the upper deck is not "full". I look at it every game.

You're missing the point of the post. One side is not "better" than the other when it comes to attendance.

Lots of tickets are sold in the entire stadium, but lots of people stay in the parking lot, club areas, or home. No matter where they are supposed to sit.

I'd guesstimate that attendance was about 35K yesterday. Notably less people than the previous handful of games. I'd say 5K+ less than Clemson.

Im not gonna do a stadium experience thread for this one but the DJ was kept largely in-check yesterday. Perhaps someone showed the UM Athletic Dept. the threads we've had here recently. The DJ still played beyond his stopping points a few times in the 4th quarter but there was some improvement.

It was homecoming so I expected more in-game nonsense but this game was completely over the top. Its like all of the in-game stuff they didn't do during the Clemson game they added to the UVA game. It was non-stop distractions.

The crowd got pretty fired up during the final few minutes and into overtime. Gotta give everyone who showed up and stayed some credit for that one.

Ok

Are you willing to take my 24-14 pregame prediction now? Our QB is a turnover waiting to happen, our Oline weares teams down and we have more RB’s than any program in the country. Style points don’t count, but W’s do.
Whatever you think of Mario, he is absolutely playing to his personnel. That is is precisely what a coach must do.
No, I'm not willing to take your prediction. It was wrong anyway. I never disagreed with you on the turnovers. I said, "We need to limit turnovers."

My point was always that only scoring 20-24 points in regulation will lose you the game more often than not. We have been lucky that the past two teams we have faced have less offense than we have and that our defense has been putting the game on their back.

I will reiterate. 24 or fewer points will not win against anyone left on our schedule, minus maybe BC. But, even against BC, it may need to be better.

I don’t believe this offense with the QB’s we have can score more than 20-24 points per game. So my position is how does a team win when it can’t score more, because that is who we are. These last 2 games are not aberrations, they are our present and future for the duration of this season in terms of offensive production. We have a QB who will absolutely throw no less than 2 INT’s per game against zone coverage, and a true freshman.

So how do you win when the offense can’t score more than 24 points?? Because you can wish for something different but the job of a coach is to find ways to win even with poor offensive production.

I’d say there were 36-38k in seats. Home sideline filled in nicely by end of the first. TV side was abysmal and because opposing fans don’t travel, 3 full sections are always empty. Students also are a joke for UM, can’t fill 3 total sections including a ******* band.

People always say that the other side is the visitor side, but that doesn't hold water unless we're different from every away game I've ever attended. In those, we're given the absolute worst seats, generally tucked in a corner somewhere. They just aren't as desirable as sitting behind our bench and not enough of our fans are buying them.
The attendance looks worse on TV because the cameras are always pointed towards the visitors side of the stadium. For whatever reason, (likely the shade) the home side is always a lot more full for games like this. Honestly, I wouldn't buy seats on the visitor's side unless they were significantly discounted vs the home side. It's why there was like 35-40k in the stadium but it looks like 20k on TV.

Considering the opponent and the fact that the Canes gave us nothing to cheer about for 75% of the game..be happy we as a crowd didn’t leave early to get a jump on traffic. You guys think this is Athens, GA sometimes. Man this is Miami on a Saturday evening. You expect too much of the local fans. If we beat FSU, let’s see what that Louisville crowd looks like.

You're simply not tailgating right and/or your nose nacho supplier was back in Barranquilla for a wedding if your culo is always in your seat for the national anthem at Canes or Heat games.

The mentions and photos of "attendance" at kickoff/tip are the fodder of mongoloids with agendas.

I'm not saying rolling into the stadium in the 2nd quarter is acceptable either but if you're getting to your seats with only like 5 minutes expired on the clock then who gives a ****? Recruits and players don't take a mental snapshot of what the crowd looks like at its smallest. They remember noise levels and what it looks like for the actual meat of the game.

I am amazed at how many different topics porsters can imagine to criticize anything and everything.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there were 55,000 or more tickets sold to this game. But the number of no-shows was **** significant.

UM needs to pay a little extra to the ACC network to fill in the open seats with A.I. fans. Pipe in a bunch of crowd noise and TV viewers will be none the wiser.

[BGCOLOR=initial]In an ideal world, the better long term solution is a smaller stadium near campus. 45-50k seats. F[/BGCOLOR][BGCOLOR=initial]or games with expected high attendance, have an option to move game to Hard Rock. [/BGCOLOR]

I got a MAUDE warning for racism/bigotry for using the term Cuban Time?

Yeah…. I need an explanation on this one. As a Cuban myself, I am confused.

It would be appropriate for Miami if game times were listed as "3:30i[BGCOLOR=initial]sh" [/BGCOLOR]

Don't ever underestimate UM fans to overlook decades worth of data.

This IS what a UM crowd looks like, most of the time.

We typically rank somewhere in the low to mid 30s in attendance by nearly every organization tracking these statistics (ticketed, actual, all the same).

On average, we use 60 to 65% of the stadium's overall capacity.

Nearly every school which ranks ahead of us pumps out alumni at a ratio of at least 5 to 1.

I can't believe I even respond to this **** anymore. Get the **** over it.

we will never have a public school attendance in terms of football attendance. people dont seem to get it though. this inst the market for that and it wasn't even that in the glory days. good games will be filled when the team is good, bad teams wont draw no matter how good UM is, and FSU and UF will always be full with a lot of UF and FSU fans due to the large number of alumni in SFL
