"The chart says go for it" on 4th & 8 up 9 w/ under 1:30 to go at the FSU 23?

Single worst game management coach I’ve seen. Literally puts the cuffs on Beck all quarter then when he should kick a FG to ice it, passes
MOAR dumb posts.

Three possessions in the 4Q.

One that Beck missed the 3rd down throw.

One that Marion didn’t run a great route but was wide open and either Beck missed him or he missed the catch.

One that had perfect 4th down call and Beck missed throw to Tony that likely would have been TD.

Let me introduce you to Billy Napier. Dude literally called timeout to avoid a 10 second runoff when they were trying to run out the clock.
It was revealed after the game that Barber’s helmet came off so that causes a stop of the clock so Napier called the TO to allow Barber to not have to sit out a play. Bottom line is clock was stopped anyway so was smart call to be able to get starting OL in the game.

Clearly. I was at the game, not a single person was saying it was the wrong call.

Yall wanted him to kick a FG to make a 2-score game…..a 2-score game??

Yeah, this was far from "Take a Knee" redux.

The issue wasn't the play call itself but rather that the whole operation seemed so discombobulated.

Kept waiting for Mario to call time out and then we randomly snap the ball and run a play that looked like something we'd barely practiced instead of the go-to game ender it could have been

**** happens, tho.

Don't let few bumps in the road ruin a truly fantastic victory

We won the game. WTF are you complaining about?

Some of us have been waiting 20 years for this team to be this team. You can try being happy about us being 5-0, beating Notre Dame, Florida, FSU and being in pole position for an ACCCG and playoff spot.

Or you can just act like a ***** on the night of our victory.

You can suck Mario's nuts in October if you want.

I am sorry but Napier calling a time out when trying to run the clock out beat anything done today!

Altering reality to push a narrative.

Beck was not hand cuffed. Go back and rewatch the 4th. Beck and the rest of the O needs to execute consistently.

It isn’t about giving him 1 throw a drive. It is about taking what the D gives you on every play. Dont tell me we should have run into an 8 man front with Toney / Daniels 1v1. Or that we can run play action on it with Lofton getting open.

Still stan under stand why we were in so many condensed looks. I thought we ran better out of a a three recover set

Imagine the menstruation on this board if Mario kicks a FG there and it gets blocked and returned for a touchdown? We held them to 3 points in 3 quarters. You try to end the game with your safest pass call, which we did. We didn’t execute. So now you lean on your defense.
I did not want him to kick. Going is the right call. It’s just funny how he is content to basically kneel the ball all quarter then go for it there

The mouthbreathers around here don't realize that when we kick a field goal, they are the first ones to scream about "not going for the jugular".

What a stupid thread, it was already a two score game a fg changes nothing other than giving them a chance to block it and score faster. The right call was going for it, the play called was good, it was executed poorly that's it, there's plenty you can whine about that's legit, this isn't one.

That 4th quarter was atrocious. No two ways about it. It’s like we just quit playing - like Mario just told the guys to pack it up.

We were so aggressive the first 3 quarters only to then roll over and give them 19 points.

And Yes - YOU KICK THAT **** FG TO GET TO 31. How is this even a debate? We were up, and they had momentum so you get the 3 to stop their momentum and take some of the pressure off.

I honestly can’t tell whether Mario got scared - afraid to lose so he had the team go into a shell, or if he just didn’t want to run up the score so he took his foot off the gas.

Horrible play and play calling in the 4th. We need to fix that.

Now on to UL.

BS... so did trying to pass.

I actually liked the call, just wish we didn’t always seem so discombobulated in those situations.

Really??? What ifs can happen at any play..
Of course. It basically comes down to risk tolerance based on the circumstances. Most times you accept the risk of a kick getting blocked. But a big play was the only way FSU had a chance to win. So it seems reasonable to try to end the game there. I can understand taking the FG too, but it’s not like Mario was negligent.

I think everyone agrees we have some stuff to clean up. 5-0 with 4 quality wins and stuff to clean up is a great place to be. People acting like beating FSU on the road is some kind of tragedy just need to calm down a bit.
